Badminton is a sport played in singles and doubles.

The aim of the game is to hit a shuttlecock through

the net and into your opponent's side, causing them to make a mistake and lose a point.

Badminton originated in the mid-1800s, when British military officials stationed in British India invented
it. Originally referred to as 'battledore' rather than badminton, the game's usage of a shuttlecock rather
than a ball has remained consistent over the years.
