Foreword
On the date of publication of this document, there is not international, European or French standard
treating same object. The European Directive n° 89/392 modified by the n° 91/368 then the n° 93/44 and
the n° 93/68 makes obligation to provide with any machine or industrial facility, a "instruction card",
indicating the conditions of handling, use, maintenance and specifying measurements of hygiene and
safety to be taken at the time of these operations.
This document was elaborated starting from a concrete analysis of the needs for preventive maintenance
and practices TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) concerning the equipment under operation in the
Renault group.

1 General
The present standard fixes the contents of the plan of preventive maintenance having to be delivered by
the supplier.

This PMP constitutes one of the points specified in the chapter "instructions of maintenance" of the
instruction card in accordance with standard EB00.20.600

1.1 Policy of Renault with regard to the preventive maintenance

To reduce the costs the following principles must be respected :
 the machines must be designed so as to require a minimal preventive maintenance;
 the preventive maintenance must be designed to raise the risks of appearance of the
dysfunctions considered to be critical (analyzes comparative risks/costs), and which
could not be avoided by the design;
 the preventive maintenance intrusive actions (visual monitorings under operation
realizable by the operators of production) and least expensive actions must be
privileged;
 the periodicities of these operations must be expressed when that is possible in a
number of cycles so as to be able to adjust the preventive maintenance with the quantity
of products manufactured.

1.2 Définitions
In accordance with the standard EN 13306
Preventive maintenance
Maintenance carried out with predetermined intervals or according to prescribed criteria and intended to
reduce the probability of failure or the degradation of the function of an item.
Predetermined maintenance
Preventive maintenance carried out in accordance with established intervals of times or number of units
of use but without previos condition investigation.
Conditional maintenance
Preventive Maintenance based on performance and/or parameters monitoring and the subsequent
actions.
NOTE : Performance and parameters monitoring may be scheduled, on request or continuous.

For RENAULT, the documents necessary to the exploitation of the Preventive Maintenance are:

The Plan of Preventive Maintenance (PMP) :

Plan de Maintenance Document on which one finds the list of the preventive maintenance
actions as well as information necessary to their execution in term
OPERATION of :
- small maintenance,
OPERATION
- inspection
OPERATION N°
- control,
- test, trial, probe action
- systematic replacement,
- technical cleaning
- lawful periodic control
to maintain the machine or the installation in its state of correct
operation.

Range of preventive maintenance: Document on which one finds

the procedure, step by step which details the contents of an
Gamme de operation of the PMP. It describes the manner of carrying out the
Maintenance N° operation, the chronology, the specific necessary tools , the values
OPERATION of reference, the security instructions, etc...
Note : its contents are adapted to the personnel which carries out
the operations, for example localization and description by
diagrams, texts, photographs, etc...

2 Initial supplies of Renault to the supplier

 the table of breakdown of the installations which defines the PMP to realize within the
framework of the business as well as their perimeters
 an example of PMP, refering on existing installations at Renault;

 load targets of preventive maintenance in hours not to be exceeded per year by

installation.

3 Supplies owed by supplier to Renault

The supplier must communicate the PMP (see descriptive page 6) including :

• column 1 of the PMP : the subset on which one acts, i.e. denomination of the set of the materials
connected in bearing the realization of the same function,
• column 2 of the PMP : element on which one acts, i.e. material or component on which one will
carry out preventive maintenance, (For example the motor if one decides to replace it completely or
the stage if one decides to act only on this one),
• column 3 of the PMP : the synthetic wording of the operation to be carried out
• column 4 of the PMP : the specified load, sum of all times of all spent by the intervention people to
carry out the operation
• column 5 of the PMP : the periodicity, mode of release mode and number of units (operating hours,
number of produced parts, or calendar)
• column 6 of the PMP : the state of the machine during the realization of the operation
• column 7 of the PMP : the minimal and maximum limit values adjustments tolerated
• column 8 of the PMP : the specific tools (greasing pump) or equipments of specific
measurement (ampermeter) or used feeling (visual, auditive?.) to carry out control
• column 10 of the PMP : conditional (C) exchange part compared to control or systematic (S)
compared to an exchange periodicity
• column 11 of the PMP : designation and reference of the spare part and/or consumable
preceded by the quantity figures
• column 9 and 13 of the PMP : the maintenance range number , refer to standard EB00.20.600 for
more precision

The supplier must also provide a computer file (Excel) which it documents starting from the native file
available in the business data processing bases of the standards.
There are as many files as of PMP requested.

Note :
For identical equipments, only one documentation is requested from the supplier and could be duplicated
in agreement, provided their functions are identical (same operations, same conditions of operating:
charge, cycle time, rate of engagement, temperature, external medium,….).

NOTE : For the not dated documents, the last version in force must be applied
