The calculation is as follows:

CO from pulmonary artery catheter (CO PAC) = 6.7 L/min = 6,700 ml/min = 6,700 cm3 /min

Heart rate (HR) is 90 beats/min

So stroke volume (SV) = 6,700 ml/min / 90 beats/min = 74.44 ml/beat = 74.44 cm3 / beat
There is NO regurgitation, so the stroke volume through the pulmonic valve is equal to the stroke
volume through the tricuspid valve during diastole.

The effective orifice area (EOA) of the tricuspid valve = Stoke volume TV / VTI TV

EOA = SV TV / VTI TV = 74.44 cm3 / 18.6cm = 4.0 cm2
