different learning materials such as PowerPoint presentations, flashcards, and manipulatives.
The objective of the CI project is to improve the performance of Kinder pupils in recognizing letters, especially the
most mistaken lowercase letters such as m and w, p and q, b and d.

Objective By the end of March 2022, at least 10 out of 33 selected Kinder- Violet pupils of Matias B. Salvador Memorial
Elementary School can easily recognize the most mistaken lowercase letters (m and w, p and q, b and d) with the
guidance of their parents/guardians and through the use of play-based learning materials such as PowerPoint
presentations, flashcards, and manipulatives.
Matias B. Salvador Memorial Elementary School is committed to provide quality and sustainable education
amidst the threat of Covid-19 pandemic. Due to these challenges, the school head, teachers, learners, and parents
play new roles and significant responsibilities in the teaching and learning process for this school year.
Brief
Last October, Kindergarten teachers conducted an ECCD assessment for all Kindergarten pupils. Based on the
Background
result, pupils from Kinder-Violet have the highest number of pupils who are struggling with letter recognition.

The assessment was given to the 33 pupils from Kinder- Violet and 10 out of 33 or 30% of them struggled with
letter recognition. This is where the launching of Project PEARL will be anchored.
Regular meetings will be every Thursday and Friday ( 8:00-9:00 am) of the week starting from February 17, 2022, to
