Dry ice is very cold, with a temperature of -78.5°C. It can quickly freeze the skin and
should not come into direct contact with the skin!
Do not point the gun at anyone, and use extreme caution when the operating area is
occupied.
Do not misuse this equipment without purpose.
Without training personnel are strictly prohibited to operate this equipment.
Be sure to turn off the main power and unplug the cable connector before removing the
jet pipe.
The air supply pressure must not exceed the limit (10 kg/cm²).
During operation, each pipeline must not be twisted.

! Attention
Start-up operation
▪ Do not disassemble or replace electrical or gas circuit components or parts while the
unit is operating, as this may result in injury and damage to the unit
▪ Every time you turn on the unit, before loading dry ice, the system must be emptied
with compressed air.
▪ Keep the funnel lid closed to avoid foreign objects falling into the funnel.
▪ Do not use inferior quality dry ice.

Attention
Every time there is a long shutdown (more than 15
minutes), the system must be Empty, otherwise it is easy
tocause the ice supply system or nozzle to freeze

Maintenance - Spot Check

▪Do not touch the terminals of the circuit when the power is just cut off (within 3 minutes).
Otherwise, there is a possibility of electric shock caused by residual voltage.

II. Equipment Introduction

Applicable industries:Dry ice cleaning is widely used in automotive 4S service car beauty
chain, high precision automation and other fields.

Three, dry ice machine working principle:

Dry ice is similar to steel sand blasting, glass sand blasting, plastic sand blasting and
soda blasting in that the dry ice blasting media dry ice particles are accelerated in a high
pressure air stream and impact the surface to be cleaned. The unique feature of dry ice
cleaning is that the dry ice particles in the impact instant vaporization. The momentum
of dry ice particles disappears at the moment of impact. Dry ice particles and cleaning
surface between the rapid heat exchange. This causes the solid CO2 to sublimate rapidly
into a gas. The volume of dry ice particles expands nearly 800 times in a few thousandths
of a second, thus causing a "mini explosion" at the point of impact. As the CO2 evaporates,
the dry ice cleaning process does not produce any secondary waste, leaving the need to
collect and clean only the dirt removed, dirt peeled off by the airflow away from a physical

▪ As with other blasting media, the momentum of dry ice particles depends on their mass
and speed, due to the relatively low density of dry ice, to achieve the required impact
energy depends mainly on the speed of dry ice particles.

▪ Unlike other blasting media, dry ice particles are extremely low temperature (-78 ℃ ).
Such a low temperature makes dry ice cleaning has a unique thermodynamic properties,
affecting the mechanical properties of adhering dirt. Due to the temperature difference
between the dry ice particles and the cleaning surface, the thermal shock phenomenon
occurs. Material temperature decreases, the brittleness increases, dry ice particles can be
broken by the impact of the dirt layer.

The principle of dry ice cleaning machine is summarized in the

Sudden energy transfer: dry ice particles hit the surface to be cleaned at high speed,
impact kinetic energy dissipation, dry ice particles and the surface to be cleaned occurs
extremely rapid heat transfer, carbon dioxide sublimation instantly.

Low temperature cracking: dry ice particles (-78.5 * C) impact on the surface to be cleaned,
so that the dirt frozen to brittle and burst, resulting in "cracking", affecting the mechanical
properties of the adhering dirt.

Micro-explosion: dry ice particles drilled into the cracks of the dirt, in a few thousandths of
a second quickly vaporized, its volume instantly expanded 780 times, the surface of the
object will be stripped of dirt.

IV: Operation Guide

Turn on the machine

1、Turn the power switch off.

2、Close the exhaust valve switch.

3、Connect the jet pipe.

4、Connect the gun.
5、Connect the control cable to the equipment and the gun
6、Connect the air supply pipe.
7、Confirm that the nozzle is firmly mounted on the gun.
8、Open the funnel cover and make sure the funnel is dry, clean, and free of residue.
9、 Close the funnel cover.
10、 connect the ground wire to the cleaned object or to its conductive support.
11、Open the air source to open, pressurize the air supply line, check whether there is air
leakage.
12 、 the power cable plug into the plug. If you need to extend the cable, the extension
cable must meet the requirements of the machine and meet the safety regulations.
13、 turn on the power switch.
14、 open the drain valve, drain the water in the filter, and then close.

Spraying operation
1. Blast compressed air for 1 minute to evacuate the system Evacuation Procedure:Adjust
the ice output knob to maximize the ice supply speed. Depress the gun trigger. After
emptying, set the ice supply speed back to the proper value.
2. Open the funnel lid.
3. Add dry ice pellets to funnel.
4. Close the funnel lid.
5. Depress gun trigger to start blast cleaning.
Shutdown
1.Continue blasting to empty the dry ice from the funnel.

2.Eliminate the frost on the blasting tube and nozzle

4. Turn off the power switch.
5.Turn off the air source switch.
6.Open the filter drain valve and make the pipeline completely depressurized.
7.Close the funnel cover.
8.After completely depressurizing, disconnect the cable, disassemble the pipeline and
hang it on the equipment.

Operation points
Do not allow foreign material to enter the funnel.
Do not abuse the gun and cable.
Extend twisted lines smoothly.
Lock the unit on its casters.
Reduce ice supply rate when compressed air pressure is below 5 kg/cm2. Do not clog the
gun.
Reduce the ice supply speed, then gradually increase it to find the best ice supply speed
for the cleaning effect.
Empty the funnel at mid-work. Empty the funnel first. The dry ice can be filled again.
Repeatedly and intermittently depress the gun trigger to break the caked dry ice.
After working, empty blast for 1 minute.

Operating Tips
Before starting work, place the spray tube in the position where it can be operated to the
maximum extent.
Aim the nozzle vertically at the surface to be cleaned to obtain the fastest cleaning speed.
For most nozzles, the best distance from the cleaning surface is 5cm.
Use the gun's backlash as a body support and do not intentionally resist it.

Using dry ice

Keep dry ice and funnel closed

Do not use dry ice in powdered or caked form.
Do not use dry ice pellets larger than 3m in diameter.
Do not allow pieces of dry ice packaging to enter the funnel.
Do not open the seal of the dry ice container before use.

refrigerator to avoid direct sunlight.

VII. Personnel Training

New machines purchased by customers. Operators must be trained to start and maintain
the machine.
Training object: the staff designated by the customer, the healthy person with labor ability,
must have the basic knowledge of electrical familiar understanding.
Training matters: The technical personnel sent by TECH to train the staff who use the
equipment or the personnel designated by the customer company, the training includes:
the use of equipment, maintenance. Maintenance, training personnel test. After passing
the test, we will start the job.

VIII. Equipment operation specification

Operators need to be trained to wear basic labor protective equipment such as masks, ear
plugs, protective clothing and gloves.

The nozzles should not be on the position of people during the operation, and the static
shot of the product should not exceed 3S when spraying to avoid harming people and
products.

The operation site needs to be arranged with low ventilation to ensure that the carbon
dioxide evaporated from the dry ice can be discharged quickly to avoid the possibility of
oxygen deprivation and dizziness when employees are working.

IX. Common problems in the use process and analysis and
treatment methods

9.1 Troubleshooting faults

9.2 Analysis and processing methods

X. Maintenance
Follow the equipment maintenance card to implement daily, weekly and monthly spot
checks and maintenance.
The equipment must be shut down for more than 15 minutes to remove the dry ice and use
the blow up mode to clear the ice chamber of any water ice that may have accumulated.
Each shift needs to start work first to remove the water outlet drainage under the gas
storage store, to avoid the humid air in the morning and evening and cause the gas to
contain excessive water and wall ice.

and conveying hose and joint are not damaged.
