Statement of the Problem

In today’s world, the main problem of everybody about solid waste is the lack of discipline of
people like disposing of waste in the wrong place, littering, etc. and this has huge impact on the
community, which causes growing rate of garbage problems that also affects air pollution, water
and soil contamination, and also affect the health of people.
The government became open to this event, so the government took action on areas with
a lot of waste. But this is an ineffective way, to prevent garbage disposal around.

Encouraging every people to have sincere concern in the environment is challenging so

we came up with the idea of Money Trash that will help to solve the following:

1. How to solve the problem of littering?

2. How to teach people to be disciplined in proper waste disposal?
3. How to encourage everyone to participate in protecting environment from waste?

Money Trash

This can be a solution to the problem that community faces regarding on the problem in
solid waste. With Money Trash, we are providing solution, an innovative solution that can help to
reduce, not only to reduce but to prevent the spreading of waste in the environment, save nature
from pollution and it will also help to discipline people with the right garbage disposal. This can
also help people to earn money through trash.
The Money Trash is a type of trashcan which evolves into high-tech, not only a simple
trashcan but a high-tech trash can. The highlight of this technology is to allow every person to earn
cash from trash.
How can you get cash?
Every person will have a card called Trash Card, this card will be registered on their
name; it seems like an advantage card used in malls to get points. Every time they throw garbage
in the Money Trash they can get points. The points they will earned can be converted into cash.
Converting to cash can be done after the minimum number of points has been achieved per cash.
They can’t convert points to cash if below the minimum points.

How does Money Trash Work?

When they throw garbage in the Money Trash it will open automatically. Then, when the
garbage is thrown, they will just tap the card on the scanner to get the points from the garbage
they thrown. If there is no garbage thrown and they still tapped the card, it will be invalid and no
points will be taken.

There is also a website for Money Trash, where they can login, just enter the email and
password only. Once they login, they will see the total points they have accumulated and how
much is the total amount of money they can get when the points are converted into cash.

Summary and Conclusion

There is a saying “a man’s trash is another man’s treasure. That is the key concept of
Money Trash. The Money Trash will give points whenever the user put their trash in a proper
garbage bin or container. The user can redeem those points and receive cash as reward for their
cooperation on proper waste disposal. Then they can spend the money in other things they want.
The Money Trash is giving positive reinforcement towards the user. It teaches the user to
be cleaner and be more caring towards Mother Nature. It does this by giving the user a positive
reinforcement and thus the user is learning to be more responsible on proper waste disposal.
Money Trash is there to keep garbage in one place, plain and simple. Our community
becomes cleaner and organized. It is also a proof for everyone that through Information
Technology we can give awareness to everyone to take care of our environment.

The Money Trash will benefit the community especially the Barangay official to help
them to give cleanliness to the Barangay.

The user also benefit on the money trash because they can get a point by disposing
garbage properly.

This innovative solution encourages every person to become discipline in disposing their
garbage and the motivating factor is the reward they will get when they disposed their garbage in a
proper disposal.
