RE: UWI Toronto Gala Scholarship 2016/2017

Dear Sir;
Thank you so much for your time and consideration in selecting me as a recipient for a
scholarship this year, honestly words cannot describe how happy and appreciative I am. It is so
rewarding to work hard and to see it all come to fruition. I can only hope that everyone else that applied
for scholarships and sincerely tried their best are as fortunate as I am. When possible I would really
appreciate if you could express my thanks and gratitude to the donor/s of the scholarship on my behalf,
their impact on my life and my journey in chasing my dreams are deeply felt; they do not know the good
they have done for me.
Receiving this scholarship is very timely for me as without it I might have had to postpone my
final year due to financial constraints and familial situations. Undoubtedly it would have been difficult to
break my momentum and have to try and pick up later on. I am currently a ‘guinea pig’ candidate to do
a fresh postgraduate degree in anthropology with a specialization in forensics in the Faculty of Social
Sciences. The degree would begin in September of next year (2017) and I have been working on building
a foundation towards being ready for it: philosophy for investigative/critical thinking skills and a lot of
archaeology and anthropology electives to bridge the gap into the empirical sciences. My saying all of
this helps to give scope to how timely and appreciated this scholarship award is to me, giving me a
chance to chase my dreams and achieve what I have been working towards for the last 2 years.
Again I send a heartfelt thanks to you and everyone else involved in the process of considering
and choosing me as a recipient of a UWI Toronto Gala Scholarship, I could not ask for more and I assure
you it will be put to the most efficient use possible with nothing going to waste.
