A. Answer the Guide Questions:

1. What are microplastics?

Microplastics are fragments of plastic that are found in the environment as a result of
plastic pollution. Microplastics are harmful to living organisms residing the ocean and can
be found in a wide range of items, including cosmetics, synthetic garments, and plastic
bags and bottles. Many of these products are easily disposed of in the environment.

2. Based on the documentaries, is Recycling the best option to solve the Plastic Problem?
Why?

Based on my perspective, I believe that recycling is not the best option to solve the plastic
problem. It may be an alternative to lessen the pollution but in my own opinion the best
way to solve the plastic problem is to reduce the usage of it. Many companies/individuals
are starting to use/make items that are a substitute to plastic and examples of that are
paper bags, metal tumblers, etc. Therefore, the best option is to reuse what you cannot
reduce and abstain the use of plastic to lessen the excess.

B. Search for the OMNI Plastic Calculator (www.iflscience.com) or any plastic footprint
calculator then answer or fill out the quiz/questionnaire & find out your plastic footprint.
Print (Print Screen) the final result of the quiz and submit the result.
