How do you plan to implement this lesson and integrate the technology? Check all that apply:
☐ Teacher-led: There is no student voice and choice in the activities. Students are guided by the
teacher's direction and expectations. Learning activities are assigned to the student and mostly
practice based.

☐ Student-Led: Students are given voice and choice in the activities. They may select the topic of
learning and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. The teacher facilitates
the learning as the students direct their own learning processes.

☒ Problem-based and/or Publishable: Students are solving problems and completing projects to
demonstrate their learning. Additionally, the projects can be shared outside of the classroom.

(Note: This objective could be reached by displaying the project on the school’s morning
newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, presenting it to another class, or publishing
it via an outside source.)
Lesson idea implementation:
First, I will do a lesson on pollution through a PowerPoint and video that I have created. After that I
will ask students to create an Adobe Express video that talks about pollution and how they can help
lessen pollution. I will make students aware of the goals of the lesson by going over the “I can”
statements stated earlier in the document. The teacher is allowing the students to be creative and
will be there for technology assistance and guidance as needed. I will conclude the lesson by having
the students who would like to share their video share their video.
Managing student learning:
The tool that is being utilized may cause a shift in behavior when students are creating the video. The
teacher will have to make sure they are staying on task when they are creating their video. I will do what is
called “brain breaks” for students to ensure they are not getting too overwhelmed. When brain breaks are
allowed, students may have more creative energy to continue creating the video.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Reflection: Be sure to mention one specific UDL principle you
are focused on in this lesson – Multiple Means of Engagement, Multiple Means of Representation,
or Multiple Means of Action & Expression.
This activity and the technology tool that I have chosen supports and enhances the learning
experiences for students in the classroom because students are given the freedom to create the
video the way they want to if what they create goes over the content taught. Students are not asked
to follow a specific template; therefore, the activity allows for students to be creative. Students can
express themselves creatively because they are allowed to pick the images and the words they wish
to communicate about pollution, which goes along with the UDL principal multiple means of action
& expression. This will allow for the teacher to understand how the students like to communicate
what they have learned as well.
Reflection:
The activities that I have created will impact student learning because they will be utilizing a new
technology tool, while stating what they can do to help extinguish pollution. Students will also be
demonstrating what they have learned about pollution through the creation of the video. I look
forward to showing students videos on the board, because I will enjoy seeing the different videos
that the students have created.
