Acceptance No defects shall exist in size, nature or position that exceeds the tolerance sets in the

Rejected Any plates and/or sections with defects greater than those specified by the appropriate
material standards shall be rejected. If the rejected material is already welded into the structure or
member, it shall be removed and replaced by acceptable material. QC

All such repair work shall be at the Sub-Contractor’s/Fabricator’s expense. QC

DED RECEIVE & PROCESS SHOP Shop Drawings The Contractor will furnish the Sub Contractor with electronic design drawing files for each

ROUTING APPROVAL SHOP Drawing The Sub Contractor shall submit two sets of reproducible prints or an electronic file of

shall be submitted to the Contractor’s Quality Engineer for approval

3 Fabrication MATERIAL MARKING & CUTTING Material Identification marks shall be applied to the members with a die stamp using minimum 12 mm high
Marking lettering and placed in the same location on the member as shown on the erection drawing WELDING & FAB

Using TAG if not possible to stamping, The tag shall indicate the identification mark and 6 mm high
lettering shall be stamped on the member. WELDING & FAB

Cutting The cutting of all members, plates, brackets and the like shall be in accordance with the
requirements of SNI 03-1729-2015. WELDING & FAB
Identification The Sub Contractor shall suitably identify the steel for each building and structure in the project by

Before leaving the fabricator’s shop, shall be marked by The Sub Contractor prior to shipment

Long span rafters and trusses which have field bolted splices shall also be trial assembled in the
shop. Splice plates and members shall be match drilled. WELDING, CIVIL & QC
All bolts, washers and nuts shall be hot dip galvanised WELDING, CIVIL & QC
All nuts shall be tapped after galvanising and a lubricant coat shall be applied WELDING, CIVIL & QC
Mild Steel Bolts The design, installation and inspection of high-strength bolted joints shall be in accordance with

The welds shall be assessed by visual examination and by macro WELDING & FAB
Welding All welding procedures shall be submitted to the Contractor’s Quality Engineer, for review, before

All fabrication operations, including welding, shall be carried out and completed where practicable

WELDING CHECK Non-Destructive All non-destructive examination (NDE) shall be performed by the Sub-Contractor using a NATA (The
Examination National Association of Testing Authorities) registered testing laboratory, or other approved QC
authority

Visual inspection may be carried out by a qualified welding inspector QC


The Sub-Contractor shall submit the test reports to the Contractor’s Quality Engineer for review.
