TOTAL PRODUCTION TIME: 336 HOURS STEP 3:
THE AMOUNT OF TIME EACH WORKSTATION
STEP 2: DETERMINE THE OUTPUT RATE…
IS ALLOWED TO COMPLETE ITS TASKS…
PRODUCTION RATE: 5 CARS IN 50 DAYS

CYCLE TIME (HOUR/UNIT) = AVAILABLE TIME (HOURS/DAYS) = 50 DAYS * 24 HOURS/DAY = 240 HR/UNIT
DESIRED OUTPUT (UNITS/HOURS) 5 UNITS/DAY

LIMITED BY BOTTLENECK TASK (THE LONGEST TASK IN A PROCESS):

AVAILABLE TIME 1,200 HR
MAXIMUM OUTPUT = = = 10 UNITS
BOTTLENECK TASK TIME 120 HR

STEP 4 : COMPUTE THE THEORICAL MINIMUM NUMER OF STATIONS…

TM = NUMBER OF STATIONS NEEDED TO ACHIEVE 100% EFFICIENCY.

336 HR = 1.4 OR 2 STATIONS

TM =
240 HR
STEP 5: ASSIGN TASKS TO WORKSTATIONS…
CYCLE TIME = 240 HOURS

STEP 6: COMPUTE EFFICIENCY AND BALANCE DELAY

336 HOURS (100) = 70% BALANCE DELAY = 100% - 70% = 30%

EFFICIENCY =

Plant Maintenance
PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE:

Preventive maintenance is the regular and routine maintenance of

equipment and assets in order to keep them running and prevent any
costly unplanned downtime from unexpected equipment failure.

At NISSAN, our equipment must be maintained in order to avoid incidents

involving cars and even workers. Maintenance must be given from time to
time, depending on the type of machine and the use that is given after
one use; In addition to avoiding accidents, it is also to meet the needs of
the company and thus saving a budget, since it is cheaper to maintain all
our equipment than to buy a new equipment.
