EFfCI Auditor Application For EXCIPACT Registered Auditors - Nov 2021
EFfCI Auditor Application For EXCIPACT Registered Auditors - Nov 2021
Background
Suppliers of Cosmetic Ingredients may choose to be certified to the EFfCI Good Manufacturing Practice
(GMP) standard concurrently with an ISO 9001 assessment. Certification follows a successful audit by an
auditor meeting the EFfCI Auditor Competency requirements and who is employed by a Registered EFfCI
Certification Body.
The Auditor registration within the EFfCI Certification Scheme is available without restriction, to all
individuals worldwide who satisfy the EFfCI Auditor Competency requirements. The registration is personal and
is independent of any employment by a Registered EFfCI Certification Body (either as an employee or a
contractor). The list of EFfCI Registered auditors is available on the EFfCI website at http://www.effci.com.
One condition of the auditor registration process is that the auditor has to attend either an EFfCI run 2-day
auditor training course or have attended it as run by a Certifying Body that has been approved by EFfCI to
deliver the course “in-house”.
Due to the similarities between the EFfCI GMP for cosmetic ingredients certification scheme, including the
need for auditor registration, and the EXCiPACT GMP for pharmaceutical excipients certification scheme (see
www.excipact.org) a special dispensation to EXCiPACT registered auditors has been made within the EFfCI
GMP Certification Scheme. Thus, auditors who have satisfied the auditor registration process for EXCiPACT
GMP audits will be able to satisfy the EFfCI GMP training requirements by studying this document, which sets
out the differences in GMP requirements between the two standards.
When EXCiPACT auditors apply to join the EFfCI certification scheme they should provide evidence of their
registration to the EXCiPACT Scheme and confirm they have studied this document in lieu of attending a
specific EFfCI auditor training course. All the other requirements for EFfCI auditor registration will have to be
met.
Applicants using this route to EFCI GMP Registration should note that the EFfCI GMP for Cosmetic Ingredients
is structured in two parts – a Guide and the Standard. Only the standard may be used during an audit. The
Guide is for education and an aid for the cosmetic ingredient supplier in their application of GMP.
