Stage 3 – Learning Plan


Summary of Key Learning Events and Instruction

Instructional procedure:
• Teacher will talk about how we are all unique but we can share similar traits like how we all
get ready for school in the morning. Teacher will explain that it is ok to have different routines
in the morning but it will be fun to see what our similarities are.
• Teacher will read the book Eddie Gets Ready. We will discuss the key points of Eddie’s routine
in the morning.
• Teacher will use a smartboard to create a list of the different ways students get ready in the
morning. Ex. Brushing teeth, eating breakfast, getting dressed.
• Teacher will do a compare and contrast with students to show the different ways we get
ready in the morning.
• Teacher will have students go into small groups and log onto jam board.
• Teacher will model how to use Jam board to the students
• Teacher will write beginning Middle and End. Students will use post it notes to categorize the
different ways they get ready in the morning and put them in the beginning, middle or end
sections. Students will be grouped by gifted students and struggling students.
• Teacher will have a site called Go Guardian to see students’ screens and help students who
are struggling with typing and using the post its. Also, students with IEPS and ELLS
• Teacher will have students work individually to write sentences for their books.
• Teacher will help students with grammar and punctuation during this time.
• Teacher will hand out graphic organizer to help students organize their sentences.
• Students will work in small groups with beginning, middle and end by gifted students and
struggling students to help create pictures for their stories.
• Teacher will walk around during this time asking students if the picture matches their
sentences, what can they add/change and is it in order.
• Students will go back to their desk and log onto Wixie.
• Students will use the beginning and end book activity to help them with their book.
• Students will create a cover, three pages with pictures for their how to book.
• Teacher will print each student’s book from wixie and the students will read their books to the
class.
• Students are encouraged to read the book at home to their families.
