EFFECTIVENESS OF MODULAR LEARNING TO ISULAN NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

STEM STUDENTS

Chapter I

INTRODUCTION

Background of the Study

As the COVID-19 Pandemic started last March 2020, Modular learning was chosen as the new mode of

learning for Isulan National High School Students. In this, my goal in this research is to know the

effectiveness of modular learning to Isulan National High School (INHS) Students in this time of

Pandemic.

Modular Learning is a type of distance learning that use Self-learning Modules (SLM) based on the

Department of Education's Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELCS). Lessons can also be

heard on the radio or shown on television in a sort of SLM called television/radio-based instructions. It

is said to be a viable learning delivery option for students who do not have access to the internet or

other electronic devices.

When more adaptable educational structures are desired, the modular method has been seen as a

suitable curricular paradigm. It gives useful options for structuring schoolwork so that individual

students have greater opportunity to choose their own course of study.

This figure shows the relationship of the independent variable and dependent variable. The

independent variable is the modular learning, while the dependent variable is the effectiveness to the

students.
Statement of the Problem

The purpose of this study is to know the effectiveness of Modular Learning to Isulan National High

School Students.

Specifically, the study aims to:

1) Determine if modular learning helps Isulan National High School STEM Students.

2) If Isulan National High School STEM Students learned anything from the module.

Significance of the Study

The following are some of the reasons why this research is important:

Students

They will be able to assess how effective modular learning as a result of this research.

Teachers

They will obtain good suggestions to offer to their school head on how to improve distance learning for

their students as a consequence of the findings of this study.

Future Researchers

It would help future researchers that are interested in this topic. It will serve as a basis and their

background about their research.

Administrators of Educational Institutions

This will give school officials insight into how this sort of learning affects pupils, allowing them to

develop new models and make adjustments for the most effective implementation of this style of

learning.
Scope and Delimitation of the Study

The general intent of this study is to know the effectiveness of modular learning to Isulan National

High School Students. This study focuses on Isulan National High School STEM Students. This study

will mainly identify and assess the effectiveness of modular learning.
