Maintenance – the supportive function of HRM which
includes worker orientation, physical working conditions, motivation, compensation administration, performance evaluation, and movement. Orientation – the assistance given to the newly hired employee in adjusting to the new work environment which encompasses the people around him, the facilities of the organization, the programs and services, and technology used in the production of goods and delivery of services. Physical Working Condition – management is responsible for affording a wholesome workplace that is free from unnecessary hazards and conditions that do not constitute a risk to the physical and mental health of the employees. Motivation – the willingness to exert high levels of effort to reach organizational goals, conditioned by the effort’s ability to satisfy some individual need. Performance Evaluation – the process of evaluating employees on the basis of skills, behavior and knowledge. Compensation Administration – all forms of financial returns and tangible services and benefits employees receive as part of an employment relationship.
