Motivation Letter

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am Ashish Kumar Halder writing from Bangladesh to express my interest in applying for the Master
Engineering Systems at HAN University of Applied Sciences for the September intake, 2021. I would like
to begin with my academic background followed by professional context. I have completed my Secondary
School Certificate (SSC) exam from Patgram Anath Bondhu Govt and have obtained 5.00 out of 5.00 from
the science group in 2006. I have passed my High School with a prestigious scholarship and accomplished
my Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) exam from Govt. Debendra College, Manikganj with a result
of 3.70 out of 5.00 from the science group in 2008. I completed my B.Sc. in Mechatronics Engineering in
2015 from the World University of Bangladesh, Bangladesh with 3.74 out of 4.00.

I have learned multifarious things regarding Mechatronics Engineering and Engineering Systems;
specifically, to be told about several key courses like Automation and Robotics, CNC programming, Power
System, Electrical Machines, Power Plant Engineering, Satellite communication, Machine Tools, Flexible
Manufacturing System, Bio-electromechanical engineering, Digital Logic Circuit & Microprocessor,
Industrial Management, Automobile Engineering and so many. There were also some courses related to
Electrical and Electronics Engineering like VLSI, Digital Signal Processing, Power Electronics, Power
Electronics, and Drives, etc. The alluring course outlines together with course materials enticed me so
much that it even endorsed me to attain a satisfactory CGPA 3.74 out of 4.00 scale being the 2nd of my
whole batch. My thesis was on the Design and Construction of microcontroller-based Monitoring and
Detection of Home security systems through which I have been exposed to PCB design, mechanical
components, and control systems. But control and electronics were not the only fields for which I have
developed a sincere fondness.

I have also completed a training course on “Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Microcontroller".
During my university life. I also completed the Industrial Attachment Training Program held at Bangladesh
Industrial Technical Assistance Centre (BITAC).
After graduating from World University Bangladesh, I felt that I should gain some practical experience by
working in a reputed Company. I joined as Executive- Sales and Service Engineer at Ixony Engineering
Limited in October 2014, and still working there as a Service Engineer. I always enjoy every minute of my
work, especially the opportunity to participate in cutting-edge projects and discuss ideas with senior
management. Many people have asked me why I did not proceed directly to graduate studies after
graduating. The answer is that I wanted to make sure that I had chosen the right subject and the right
place before embarking on a course of study that would involve many years of my life.

A global Master's program has become an essential part of developing my future career. Initially, I was
avidly looking for some universities who have exact or related programs to my desired program along with
an engrossing and efficacious course outline. But, unfortunately, I couldn't find much according to my
requirements. Eventually, I found the opportunities together with my intended courses followed by a
rigorous thesis program at the HAN University of Applied Sciences. Though the international ranking says
all these things conspicuously, apart from that, I firmly hope to fulfill my ambition at the HAN University
of Applied Sciences, which I consider one of the best universities to pursue my further studies. I have gone
through the website very carefully and concluded that with excellent research facilities and highly
knowledgeable faculty, the HAN University of Applied Sciences will provide me a perfect environment to
focus all my resources on research. Besides, its program structure is not only well-embellished but also
well-precise. In turn, this program will undoubtedly help me to have a profound knowledge of my
academic and professional life. Consequently, it can be utilized in taking care of my country’s automation
industry that will fetch a gradual boost up in the economy of Bangladesh.

Within a decade from now, I can foresee myself as a Research Scientist in a premier research Laboratory
or as a Professor in a top-ranked university. I understand that a Master in Engineering Systems is very
essential. Henceforth my short-term goal is to pursue a Master in Engineering Systems in a good University
which can provide quality education as an endorsement towards my mark.
To recapitulate, I am confident that I will be able to meet the standards of the University. I also hope that
I will be provided an impartial opportunity to realize my objectives by being granted admission to the HAN
University of Applied Sciences to the aforementioned program. I look forward to perceiving a long and
mutually beneficial relationship with the University.
