MUCH AND MANY

We often
use too before much and
many. It means ‘more We usually use a lot of

HOW MUCH = What quantity is there? It’s used with NON-COUNT nouns.

How much crime is there in San Cristobal?  There’s a lot of crime.


How much garbage is there in your apartment?  There’s no garbage in my apartment.

HOW MANY= What quantities/numbers are there ? It’s used with plural COUNT nouns.

How many people are there in your apartment building?  There are a few ones.
How many garbage cans are there in the park?  There aren’t many.
