    A division bench led by Justice Gautam Patel and Justice Abhay Ahuja in an oral order
    dismissed USV's appeal against the single bench ruling, saying that it was entirely
    correct in its approach. A detailed copy of the order has yet to be uploaded on the court
    website.

    HUL NSE -0.12 % ) and Wipro
    NSE 0.06 % Enterprises.

    A division bench led by Justice Gautam Patel and Justice Abhay Ahuja in an
    oral order dismissed USV's appeal against the single bench ruling, saying that
    it was entirely correct in its approach. A detailed copy of the order has yet to be
    uploaded on the court website.

    Last month, Justice AK Menon had restrained USV from disparaging or


    infringing brands owned by HUL and Wipro Enterprises.

    "The Court rulings reaffirm that the advertisement campaign by Sebamed


    denigrated HUL's brands and misled consumers on the basis of pH, which is
    just one of the many parameters that go into manufacturing soap," said Dev
    Bajpai, executive director, legal and corporate affairs, HUL. "It is also pertinent
    to note that Sebamed's campaign was irresponsible, and that such misleading
    communication was issued during the pandemic, when the government and
    health authorities had advocated hand washing with any soap."

    In January last year, HUL had sought the HC's intervention to restrain USV
    from running advertisements that allegedly disparaged its Lux, Pears and TOP TRENDING INDUSTRY TERMS

    Hope after the pronouncement of judgement in this case, there are so many
    existing advertisements for many consumables, are spreading wrong claims,
    cheating the consumers. For example Complan, growing taller, after eating
    it. There are 100s of advertisements which mislead the consumers.Let us
    hope that our Indian manufacturers correct their product advertisements,
    voluntarily, giving correct facts about their products.
