ABSTRACT

The problem is that , the wounded soldiers can’t be properly taken care of as their
location can’t be known exactly. If the soldiers are in warfare or in duty , if an injury occurs there
is less measures taken to inform the headquarters as such a measure is not established. So we
would like to add a backup to soldiers by providing a system which automatically detects injury
in soldiers and if found out , the location will be sent immediately to the headquarters so that
they could take immediate measures to save them.

The problem is solved by implementing an integrated armor suit for the cloths. We would
like to integrate a cloth in which we will embed a velocity sensor , gyro sensor , pulse sensor ,
CGM sensor and a GPS module. Those modules are together connected into a single module and
limits will be set for every sensor. When any of the limit set is exceeded it is treated as an injury
and location of the soldier is sent via the GPS to the headquarters.

LITERATURE REVIEW

The problem is solved by implementing an integrated armor suit for the cloths. We would
like to integrate a cloth in which we will embed a velocity sensor , gyro sensor , pulse sensor ,
CGM sensor and a GPS module. Those modules are together connected into a single module and
limits will be set for every sensor. When any of the limit set is exceeded it is treated as an injury
and location of the soldier is sent via the GPS to the headquarters.

THEORETICAL BACKGROUND

We are implementing an integrated armor suit for the cloths in which we will embed a
velocity sensor , gyro sensor , pulse sensor , CGM sensor and a GPS module. The principle
behind each of these sensors and modules are:-
GPS or Global Positioning System is a satellite navigation system that furnishes location
and time information in all climate conditions to the user. GPS is used for other purposes such as
for navigation in planes, ships, cars and trucks also. The system gives critical abilities to military
and civilian users around the globe. GPS provides continuous real time, 3-dimensional
positioning, navigation and timing worldwide.
A velocity sensor consists of a moving coil suspended in the magnetic field of a
permanent magnet. The velocity is given as the input, which causes the movement of the coil in
the magnetic field. This causes an emf to be generated in the coil. This induced emf will be
proportional to the input velocity and thus, is a measure of the velocity.

Gyro sensors, also known as angular rate sensors or angular velocity sensors, are devices
that sense angular velocity. It senses the rotational motion and also the changes in orientation.

Current methods of continuous glucose monitoring are based on the measurement of the
electrical current passing through the subcutaneously inserted sensor. The sensor is composed of
three very thin electrodes. Two electrodes measure the glucose concentration in the interstitial
fluid and the third electrode eliminates the “electrical noise” caused by the presence of other
substances than glucose. The electrodes are made of two different metals or metal alloys that are
usually well accepted by the human body.

The Pulse Sensor essentially combines a simple optical heart rate sensor with
amplification and noise cancellation circuitry making it fast and easy to get reliable pulse
readings.

All of these sensors and modules are connected together into a single module.
Finally the location of the soldiers are sent to the headquarters if they got injured during
any warfare or in their duty time.
