Abstract

In the past, mobile phones were solely used for making calls, but since the advent of smartphones,
they have developed into a low-powered hand-held processing machine. The operating system for
mobile phones, which makes them intelligent devices with independent processing and storage, is
what led to this evolution. Today's smartphones offer a wide range of features, including calling,
messaging, sharing multimedia, emails, social media applications, word processing, excel sheets, and
a variety of multiplayer games. These handheld devices run on Google's Android operating system,
Apple Inc.'s iOS, and Microsoft Inc.'s Windows. In terms of units delivered globally and users,
Android has the biggest market share among competitors in the smartphone operating system
sector. Using Android an open source operating system built on the Linux kernel that uses the Dalvik
virtual machine to compile and merge all java class files into a single file and an application
framework to manage the library-supported activities. On a single device, many virtual machines
may operate concurrently and manage various applications or instances of one programme. The
running applications and services can control their processes and memory using the Android
operating system. Every new version of Android introduced better functionality and an improved
user experience. This essay examines how the Android operating system evolved with each new
iteration.

INTRODUCTION :

Conclusion

Android holds the biggest market share for usage and the number of units delivered globally, with
350 million units and an 86.8% market share. As a result, there is an increasing demand for
smartphones. Features that boosted user adaptability and met their needs were included in each
release. Google should place equal emphasis on security and privacy while creating the Android
operating system because these issues pose a serious danger to company and its weaknesses attract
hackers who use them to target users and access their personal data. By doing this, along with
improving the user experience, the Android operating system would win over its users' trust and
grow its market share and keep the users in place. Google has successfully marketed the Android
operating system as being open source and available for a variety of devices made by various
manufacturers up to this point. It is now necessary for Google to set quality criteria for the
manufacturers of devices using the Android operating system in order to guarantee user experience
and uphold operating system standards that would also assure the adherence to security
regulations. By doing this, the Android operating system can overcome the flaws and criticism it has
received from rivals, allowing it to establish itself as a user-friendly platform that values its
consumers.
ABSTRACT

With dozens of smart phones and tablets already available or soon to be available, the android
operating system, which is essentially an operating system for mobile devices, is quickly gaining
market share. It is a mobile operating system that makes use of a modified Linux kernel version 2.6.
As one of the more than 30 mobile and technology businesses aiming to open up the mobile handset
ecosystem, Google created Android as a part of the Open Handset Alliance. Because of Jetty's
modularity and small file size, as well as the fact that Android's development kit supports many of
the standard packages used by Jetty, it was simple to port Jetty to it so that it will be able to run on
the Android platform.

Conclusion

Through my investigation, I've discovered that Android is a far more varied operating system than
iOS and Windows Phone Mobile. Over the past four years, Android has risen quickly to become the
most popular smartphone operating system in the world. It's because Android releases several
phones from a variety of companies throughout the year, each with their own unique twist, and
develops progressively day by day rather than releasing a single phone from a single company with a
single new OS every year. When compared to Apple and Microsoft software, Android's
customization capabilities are unmatched, allowing users to alter and personalise almost every
aspect of the operating system, something that most iPhone and Windows 7 users couldn't ever
imagine being possible. I'm not one to declare that one OS is better or worse than another, but
Android is different and unmatched in that regard.
Abstract

It has been noted that the majority of people today use Android-based mobile, smartphone, and
tablet devices. The Android operating system, which is currently being developed by Google, has
grown to be one of the most well-known operating systems based on the Linux kernel. Every year,
millions of new users join the Android platform. The kernel, libraries, application framework, and
applications make up the four fundamental components that make up the Android operating
system. We discuss the background, architecture, and features of each Android operating system
version in this essay.

Conclusion

More than 190 nations around the world utilise Android mobile smartphones now. With the release
of every new version of Android, numerous new features are added. Using an Android phone today,
a smart phone transforms everyone's life. Due to their open-source characteristics, Android devices
are less expensive than devices running other operating systems. Java programming is utilised to
create the applications used in Android, hence these applications also offer security because java is a
secured language. This essay also discusses the architecture of the Android operating system and its
several versions.
ABSTRACT:

The performance index is now significantly greater than the actual needs for the programme setup
as mobile hardware development improves. More software is required for a phone's functions. The
application built using the Android SDK draws much more attention as the Android operating system
gains in popularity. Android is an operating system for mobile devices like tablets and smart phones
that is based on Linux. The Open Handset Alliance, which is headed by Google, and other businesses
are developing it. Smart phones may execute complex embedded software applications in addition
to supporting voice and text communication. They can also provide a direct connection to the
Internet and its resources. Keywords: Linux, Open Handset, Smart Phones, Embedded, Android, SDK

Conclusion :

Everyone's life revolves mostly around their cell phone. Android encourages user interaction by
offering a wide range of applications and services. Its big touch pad and sensor mode make using it
simple for the user. The Dalvik virtual machine was specifically created for Android and compiles the
code in.dev form because all mobile applications are designed in Java but Android does not have a
Java virtual machine. Android has four different directions and supports real-time applications,
making it a real-time system.

Conclusion

With 350 million units shipped and an 86.8% market share, Android has the largest usage and unit
delivery market share globally. The need for cellphones is growing as a result. Each edition
incorporated features that improved user flexibility and catered to individual needs. Because these
concerns constitute a severe risk to the corporation and because its shortcomings attract hackers
who use them to target users and access their personal data, Google should give security and privacy
equal priority while developing the Android operating system. The Android operating system would
gain the trust of its users, increase its market share, and retain users if it did this in addition to
enhancing the user experience. Google has promoted the Android operating system well as being
open source and accessible up to this point for a variety of devices produced by multiple vendors. In
order to ensure user experience and sustain operating system standards that would also ensure the
adherence to security rules, Google must now establish quality criteria for the producers of devices
utilising the Android operating system. In order to establish itself as a user-friendly platform that
appreciates its users, the Android operating system must first address the shortcomings and
criticism that have been levelled at it by competitors.
