Description of Software:
Nearpod is used by educators to create interactive presentations for students. They can create quiz’s,
polls, videos, drawings, collaborate boards and many more. Nearpod helps teachers create lessons
interactive whether in the classroom or virtual. This platform helps keep students engaged and hands
on both inside and outside the classroom.
Anchor is a podcasting app created to make the process of recording and producing a podcast as easy
as possible. The simplicity of Anchor makes it a great option for teachers who want to help students
learn to create their own podcasts.

Lesson idea implementation:
This podcast will be used as a great start of the lesson, I will post this podcast before the day of the
actual lesson. this will give students a sneak peak of the next lesson they will be learning, in hopes to

get them excited! Universal design for learning is a great and effective way to get students engaged in
their learning and provides a variety of different learning tools. I also created a video as well to talk
about stars more in depth.
Managing student learning: I will send out the podcast a day before the actual lesson and will play
the one-minute video during class. This will help keep students engaged and gives them different
methods of learning styles.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Reflection: Be sure to mention one specific UDL principle
you are focused on in this lesson – Multiple Means of Engagement, Multiple Means of
Representation, or Multiple Means of Action & Expression.
There are many wonderful tools technology has given us; videos have been ones of them. Videos are
wonderful for capturing what you want people to see. it creates an easy visual for your students to see
as well. it gives students a visual and an audio as well, you can add subtitles so it could help students
stay engaged and they are able to have three learning methods visual, auditory, and
reading/writing. This video will be used as a great start of the lesson, I will post this video before the
day of the actual lesson. this will give students a sneak peak of the next lesson they will be learning,

Reflection: I think this a wonderful lesson it incorporates audio and visuals to help support all
students!!!
