iPASOLINK iX
Sunday, November 22, 2020 9:30 AM

• The iPASOLINK iX provides up to 620 Mbps transmission capacity per link using advanced adaptive modulation schemes and operat ing in the 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 18, 23, 26, 28, 32, 38
and 42 GHz bands

• Versatility of the iPASOLINK iX is thus obtained in packet radio. As the basic packet interface configuration, iPASOLINK iX c an be configured up to two times 1+0, one 1+1 twin path, hot
standby, diversity radio links or, thanks to NEC’s most advanced cross polarization interference canceling techniques, transm ission capacity is doubled up to 1240 (620x2) Mbps utilizing
both polarizations for the same cost and limited radio frequency channel license. All this is achieved without any header sup pression or compression of packet data.
• AMR is a technology to improve robustness mainly in the packet transmission environment by utilizing thermal threshold differ ence between modulation schemes, such as QPSK to 2048
QAM etc. For instance, intensive rain causing receiving level attenuation at high frequency bands, AMR keeps the link availab ility by automatically and error-free selection of the lower
thermal threshold modulation

• iPASOLINK iX can double its transmission capacity up to 1240 Mbps in 56 MHz (55 MHz for 18 GHz band) bandwidth by adopting NE C’s state-of-the-art XPIC technology. The additional
required components from single polarization transmission are; dual-polarized antenna, one more ODU in MDU. Through these additions, you can achieve double capacity without
additional footprint or indoor mounting space.
…………………………………………………………………..
Hybrid combiner/divider
• There are two types of NEC Hybrid Combiner/Divider, one is coaxial cable connection type for 6/7/8 GHz Bands and the other is WG connection type for 7 - 42 GHz Bands.

10 dB Coupler
• This 10 dB Coupler comprises directional coupler, antenna interface, radio mounting interfaces and polarizer. The RF signal p ower received by the single polarized antenna is unequally
distributed to two outdoor units in the ratio of 9 to 1 through the 10 dB Coupler for 1+1 protected systems. Using this 10 dB Coupler, regular side signal level could be kept higher than in
using 3 dB equal Combiner/Divider.
• There are two types of NEC 10 dB Coupler; one is coaxial cable connection type for 6/7/8 GHz bands and the other is WG connection type for 10 - 38 GHz Bands.

OMT (Ortho-Mode Transducer)
• NEC has developed Ortho-Mode Transducer (OMT) over the full range of microwave frequencies for Waveguide (WG) interface of PASOLINK Series digital mi crowave radio point-to-
point fixed wireless systems. The OMT comprises Ortho-Mode transducer, antenna interface and radio mounting interfaces. The two independent RF signals received by dual polarized
antenna are separated and sent to two outdoor units (ODUs) through the OMT for 2+0 systems.
• OMT enables dual polarization feature to double the transmission capacity for the PASOLINK system. NEC OMT has WG connection type for 11-38 GHz Bands, which is suited for RFS
Antenna and all NEC ODUs.

Optix RTN 900
Saturday, December 5, 2020 2:48 AM

• There are three types of OptiX RTN 900 products: OptiX RTN 910, OptiX RTN 950, and OptiX RTN 980.
○ The IDU of the OptiX RTN 910 is 1U high and supports one or two IF boards.
○ The IDU of the OptiX RTN 950 is 2U high and supports one to six IF boards. l
○ The IDU of the OptiX RTN 980 is 5U high and supports one to fourteen IF boards
• The OptiX RTN 900 series provide a solution that can integrate TDM microwave, Hybrid microwave, and Packet microwave technologies.
• IDU:
○ The IDU 950 is the indoor unit for an OptiX RTN 950 system. It receives and multiplexes services, performs service processing and IF processing, and
provides the system control and communications function.
RTN 950

• ODU:
○ The OptiX RTN 900 product series can use the RTN 600 ODU and RTN XMC ODU, covering the entire frequency band from 6 GHz to 38 GHz.
○ It converts frequencies and amplifies signals.
○ There are two methods for mounting the ODU and the antenna:
 Direct mounting : is generally adopted when a small- or medium-diameter and single-polarized antenna is used. In this situation, if one ODU is
configured for one antenna, the ODU is directly mounted at the back of the antenna. If two ODUs are configured for one antenna, an RF signal
combiner/splitter (hence referred to as a hybrid coupler) must be mounted to connect the ODUs to the antenna. Figure 1-3 illustrates the direct
mounting method.
□ The direct mounting method can also be adopted when a small- or medium-diameter and dual-polarized antenna is used. Two ODUs are
mounted onto an antenna using an orthomode transducer (OMT). The method for installing an OMT is similar to that for installing a hybrid
coupler.

 Separate mounting: is adopted when a large- or medium-diameter and single or dual-polarized antenna is used. Figure 1-4 shows the separate
mounting method. In this situation, a hybrid coupler can be mounted (two ODUs share one feed boom).

Boards
• The IDU 950 supports the following types of boards: system control, switching, and timing boards, IF boards, Ethernet boards, SDH boards, PDH boards, power
supply boards, and fan boards.

 We can use web LCT or handheld tool .
○ System Commissioning Process: refers to commissioning that is performed on all the NEs in the network by connecting the
commissioning tool to a gateway NE where it configures the commissioning data for each site.
