Application

The TE Connectivity (TE)’s Raychem 52/72 kV terminations are suitable for all climates, areas and environments,
even severely polluted areas, and for all installation conditions, including top feed installation.
Our heat shrink accessories have been used by utilities and industrial companies around the world for more than
35 years. This ongoing field experience has made TE a leader in materials science and technology for
high-voltage applications. Our materials technology is at the core of the development of our heat shrink
terminations. The materials used in TE Raychem’s cable accessories have been extensively optimized with respect
to product design and function, manufacturing and expected service environments.

TE Connectivity’s (TE) ASBT Aluminum Shear Bolt Terminals are
range-taking mechanical connectors. With only three connector sizes,

Class B can be accommodated, thereby reducing inventory and preventing
accidental use of the wrong conductor. The primary application of the ASBT

The ASBT is ideally suited for making aluminum or copper cable
connections to flat bar or equipment pads equipped with 2-hole NEMA
spacing. The terminal is manufactured from seamless, high conductivity
aluminium designed for heavy-duty utility applications. The bore of the
connector body has a uniquely grooved surface to enhance electrical
contact and minimize resistance at the interface between the terminal and
the conductor. The cable entry area is chamfered inside for easy cable
insertion.
