Breaking The Ice

WHAT IS AN ICE BREAKER?

• An Ice Breaker is something fun and lighthearted to get everyone talking, often
used in the form of a question or activity!

HERE ARE SOME EXAMPLES:

• If you had a day with absolutely no obligations, how would you spend it?

• When was the last time you did something for the first time?

• How-Wow-Pow-Chow:

o How – are you doing right now?

o Wow – A wow moment from last week

o Pow – A hard moment from last week

o Chow – The best thing that you ate in the last week

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE?

Studies show that an estimated 75% of the population struggles with fear of public

speaking to a certain degree. Ice breakers are used to help our members break

that initial wall of conversation and to see that talking in the Group really isn’t that

scary! We cannot connect with our members if there is no communication. Let’s

do what we can to get our members talking!
