Axioline F, power measurement module

Data sheet
107673_en_03 © PHOENIX CONTACT 2019-08-28

1 Description
The module is designed for use within an Axioline F station. Features
The power measurement module is used for direct
– 4 inputs, 0 A AC ... 5 A AC for phase currents and
measurement of AC currents up to 5 A, including neutral
neutral conductor current
conductor current and phase conductor voltages up to
400 V AC (phase to neutral conductor) or outer conductor – 3 inputs for outer conductor voltages up to 690 V AC,
voltages up to 690 V AC (phase to phase). supports direct connection
The module is used to perform analysis of AC networks. You – Harmonics analysis
can use it in distribution systems for measuring current, – Determination of maximum values
voltage, and power, as well as detecting distortion and – Power meter
harmonics. – Process data update < 500 µs
You can use the power measurement module in two
operating modes.
In “R.m.s. Values” mode, the module acquires mains
variables in three-phase mains. Mains variables are phase
currents, neutral conductor current, phase and outer
conductor voltages, real power, reactive power, and
apparent power as well as the power factors of phases,
energy flow directions, and frequency.
In "Instantaneous Values" mode, the module acquires the
instantaneous (scanning) values of a measuring signal. This
measuring mode is used to analyze the waveform of the
measuring signal.

WARNING: dangerous contact voltage

When working on the modules and wiring, always switch off the supply voltage and ensure it cannot be
switched on again.
Observe the safety notes in “Installation and startup”.
This data sheet is only valid in association with the UM EN AXL F SYS INST user manual.

Make sure you always use the latest documentation.

Identification of warning notes

This symbol indicates hazards that could lead to personal injury.

  There are three signal words indicating the severity of a potential injury.
  DANGER Indicates a hazard with a high risk level. If this hazardous situation is not avoided, it will result in
death or serious injury.
  WARNING Indicates a hazard with a medium risk level. If this hazardous situation is not avoided, it could
result in death or serious injury.
  CAUTION Indicates a hazard with a low risk level. If this hazardous situation is not avoided, it could result
in minor or moderate injury.
This symbol together with the NOTE signal word warns the reader of actions that might cause property damage
or a malfunction.

Cable length 22 m 80 A : 1 A, 1 VA
Conductor cross section 1.5 mm²
Select a current transformer that corresponds to at least this
data in all parameters.
Primary and secondary rated current From the available product range, a current transformer with
Current to be measured max. 80 A the following transformation ratio meets these
(primary rated current) specifications, for example:
Assumption: secondary rated current 1 A 100 A : 1 A, 1.25 VA

Recommendation: With long cables, use a current  PACT MCR-V2- 3015- 60 (Order No. 2277271)
transformer with a secondary rated current of 1 A. By doing Configure the current transformer with the following values
so, you keep the rated power of the current transformer low. as shown in the example:

Capacity (power) in VA Primary current Ipn 100 ampere [IP01000]

Secondary current Isn 1 ampere [IS01]
As per the formulas in the previous section:
Class Class 0.5 [C05]
PTotal = PPM + PCable (1) Rated power 1,25 VA [P125]
PPM = 10 mΩ * (1 A)²= 0.01 Ω * 1 A² = 0.01 VA (3)
PCable = l * 2 * Power (4) This results in the order key:
PCable = 22 m * 2 * 0.0117 VA/m = 0.5148 VA 2277271/IP01000/IS01/C05/P125
PTotal = 0.01 VA + 0.5148 VA = 0.5248 VA (5)

Rated power of the current transformer

PCurrent transformer = 1.5 * PTotal (6)

PCurrent transformer = 1.5 * 0.5248 VA = 0.7872 VA  1
