Development, Operations and Maintenance of Wellness

Destination Center and ecocottages at Anjunem-Keri,

Sattari Taluka, Goa

ABSTRACT:
Wellness and spa tourism have been growing rapidly in recent years on the global
level. This Thesis work focuses on the planning and development of wellness and spa
resorts and tourism, placing great value on strategic management and marketing in the
process of creating unique and relaxing client experiences amplified by authentic
connection to nature.

Along with this, wellness center and retreats encourage maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

AIM:

The Goa tourism development corporation (GTDC) set up this project is in line with the
tourism department’s policy to focus on hinterlands and eco-tourism.
The core essence of this design is to seeking out wellness is the improvement in
health, which automatically leads to an enhanced quality of life.
SCOPE:

This project emphasises on the need for nature-based tourism with ecologically
sustainable and environmentally sound practices.
This also calls for high-quality facilities in protected areas to increase footfalls and
duration of stay of high-end tourists.
So far, the accommodation facilities in the hinterlands of Goa have been set up by
private entities.
Such facilities are in demand with an increase in footfalls, specifically Indian tourists
desiring to explore the wilderness of Goa, besides enjoying sun, sand and sea.

OBJECTIVE :

- To provide effective shelter for the people from adverse climatic conditions.
- To create the environment where the user is mentally and physically at ease.
- To cure the patient mentally and physically.
- The basic concepts and fundamental principals aim at establishment such a
condition through correct and thorough knowledge of healthy living.

SPECIAL STUDY:

The special study is climate responsive and ecologically sensitive architecture and
alo the material study.
LIMITATIONS:

The scope of this research shall be limited to the aspect of biophilic design that is
rooted in a passion for life and nature in the creation of optimal healing environment.

- Treatment Units ( consultation area, dispensing room, physician room)

- Wellness (sauna, Turkish bath, massage room, etc.)

- Customer services (bar, restaurant, reception, etc.)

- Staff Accommodation

SITE:

Anjunem-keri property, in Sattari taluka , Goa , India.

The project is expected to be set up on nearly 15,073 sqm land owned by the tourist
department.
