ADDENDUM
Article 1: In the event of a Seafarer dies through any cause whilst in the employment of the Company including death from natural causes
and death occurring whilst traveling to and from the vessel, or as a result of marine or other similar peril, but excluding death
due to willful acts, the next of kin of the Seafarer shall be compensated as hereunder.
1.1.2 War Risk in War Zone or Warlike Area ……. 200% of above
1.2 Compensation for death or injury by accident arising out of and in the course of employment as follows:
1.2.1 Death
For Singapore Flag vessels the compensation shall be made in accordance with the
provisions of Singapore Work Injury Compensation Act (WICA).
For Hong Kong Flag vessels the compensation shall be made in accordance with
the provisions of the Employees’ Compensation Ordinance, Chapter 282 of the
Laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, China.
For other Flags vessels the compensation shall be lump sum of $ 46,000
For Singapore Flag vessels the compensation shall be made in accordance with
the provisions of Singapore Work Injury Compensation Act (WICA).
For Hong Kong Flag vessels the compensation shall be made in accordance with
the provisions of the Employees’ Compensation Ordinance Chapter 282 of the
Laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, China.
For other Flags vessels the compensation shall be lump sum of $58,000
For Singapore Flag vessels the compensation shall be made in accordance with

1.2.5 Permanent disabilities not mentioned above, determined by a P&I Club approved certified medical doctor, shall be compensated in
accordance with seriousness as compared with that of the above mentioned, the occupation of the Seafarer not being taken into
consideration.
1.2.6 Permanent total loss of the use of a member shall be treated as loss of the member.
1.2.7 The total compensation payable in respect of several disabilities due to the same accident is derived by adding the various sums
and the total of which shall not exceed the amount payable for Total & Permanent Disablement.
1.2.8 The aggregate of all percentages payable in respect of any one accident shall not exceed 100% of Total & Permanent Disablement.
1.3 Burial or cremation: The Company shall bear all expenses for funeral, burial or cremation if the Seafarer should die in the course
of employment. The Company shall also bear the cost of transporting his personal effects and ashes, if cremated, to the port of
engagement.
The above disability scale shall be decided on the basis of the Schedule of Disability and a medical certificate issued by a doctor
in full-time employment of a hospital and/or panel of doctors recommended by the correspondents of the Company’s P & I Club
in which this ship was entered at the time of the accident under consideration
ARTICLE 2: In the event of a Seafarer being missing at sea, the Company shall pay his monthly basic wage for one (1) month to his
bereaved family. When a Seafarer has been missing continuously for more than one (1) month, the Seafarer shall be
regarded as dead and from then on ARTICLE 1 shall be applied, always provided that after P & I investigation, suicide is
ruled out or deemed remote.
ARTICLE 3: If a Seafarer is disabled due to injury, sickness or any other cause during the period of employment, the Company shall
compensate the Seafarer with a disability allowance in accordance with the schedule of compensation in ARTICLE 1.
ARTICLE 4: If the Seafarer is injured or takes ill during his service with the Company, whilst on board, the Company shall pay the
Seafarer as follows:
4.2 Injury-Sickness allowance equivalent to 100% of his monthly basic wage for a maximum period of 130 days, subject to the
submission of satisfactory medical reports, endorsed, where necessary, by a Company appointed doctor. After 130 days sick
period in the event of incapacity due to an accident, fifty percent of the basic wages shall be paid until the seafarer has been
cured or until a medical determination is made in accordance with ARTICLE 3 concerning permanent disability.
ARTICLE 5: If the Seafarer’s injury and/or sickness is self-inflicted, no compensation shall be applied. If caused otherwise, during his
non-occupational service, the Seafarer shall be paid, by the Company medical charges for one (1) month and 50% of his
monthly basic wage for a maximum period of one (1) month.
ARTICLE 6: When the Seafarer is not cured from the injury or sickness, even after being compensated for one year, as prescribed in
ARTICLE 4, the Company may be released from the compensation obligation prescribed in ARTICLE 4. He will be paid a
lump sum equivalent to the highest scale disability compensation prescribed in ARTICLE 3.
ARTICLE 7: In case the Seafarer loses his personal effects due to a marine accident whilst on board the ship, the Company shall
compensate as payment for the loss to cover the value of the lost personal effects to the maximum of up to US$ 3,000.00 per
crew member. The loss of cash, valuables and similar items will not be compensated.
