CHAPTER I: ABSTRACT
When starting college, it is critical to have a study plan. A study plan not only
helps us improve the quality of our studies, but it also helps us foster and form
positive habits like always working with a plan, always being conscious, and
always willing to perform. Planning, self-management, and effective time
management are all essential.
This report aims to build a study plan for myself in four years of university,
including analyzing my strengths, weaknesses, threats, and opportunities, thereby I
can set goals and a study plan to achieve those goals. Having a study plan will
create the basis for me to plan a suitable career path, meeting my needs and
abilities.

CHAPTER II: PERSONAL SWOT ANALYSIS

A SWOT analysis is a standard professional tool for evaluating a company's past,
present, and future position. It gives organizational leaders a fresh perspective on
what the organization does well, its challenges, and which paths to take.
It can also do the same for someone pursuing their career goals. It gives you
insights based on your personality strengths and weaknesses, the challenges you
see ahead of you, and the opportunities available to you now and in the future. I
applied the SWOT matrix as following:

5
Figure 2.1. SWOT analysis
2.1. Strengths
- An open-minded, curious, and creative learner: To identify all the factors that
contribute to problems and devise practical solutions, I am open to a wide range of
ideas, including those that are considered strange or different from my own, so that
I frequently astound my friends with a fresh perspective. I am also open to new
experiences, enjoy experimenting with other methods of performing tasks.
Overall, these characteristics aid me in quickly absorbing knowledge and
significantly improving my problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to learn: I always desire to learn new knowledge and develop
myself continuously. To be specific, I am highly passionate about the E-commerce
major, which has been my first choice of major since I was in high school.
Realizing that the knowledge provided by the lecturer is just background
knowledge, besides taking note of what was taught, I regularly seek out documents
that are related to my major and constantly update knowledge from many angles
through reading magazines, information on the economy, society, politics,
technology, …; reading information about businesses, entrepreneurs and

6
especially the case-study shared by companies and analyze the reasons why they
do to reinforce what has been taught.
- English skill: I took the Cambridge English Language Assessment) the previous
year is a multi-level English skills testing system that assesses test takers' level and
ability to use foreign languages. My English level on the CEFR scale is B2, which
means I have the ability to comprehend the main points of complex texts on both
concrete and abstract topics, interact with native speakers with a level of fluency
and spontaneity that allows for frequent exchanges without stressing either party,
write explicit, detailed texts on a wide range of topics and explain a point of view
on a current issue, weighing the benefits and drawbacks of various options. I think
this skill is beneficial in the era of integration, which helps me a lot in my study,
like quickly understanding the resources written in English, and assists me in
creating my job opportunities
- Presentation and communication skills: In my high school years, I often took
on giving interactive presentations, which used to be my nightmare but soon
became something I am thankful for. By doing this, I have the chance to practice
all languages areas as well as essential skills. Moreover, this also enables me to
communicate better in almost every area of life; specifically, giving presentations
help me create novel ideas and develop critical thinking. My confidence will also
be improved as a result of preparing for this valuable skill.
- Time management skill: I pride myself on time management skill, which is
essential during my university years, especially when it comes to handling so
many assignments that are due around the same day. Thanks to prioritizing,
breaking down the tasks, and having a master schedule, I never failed to meet any
deadline, even completing it as planned earlier. This skill will not only help me
inside the university but also improve my career opportunities.
- Teamwork skill: Another skill I possess is working well with others. During my
first year of university, I have collaborated with a team of four members. I always

7
contribute ideas to the team's activities, meet deadlines on time, and respect the
opinions of the other team members, even if they differ from mine. And as proof
of effective group work, my group has never missed a deadline for any subject,
and the results have been very positive.
2.2. Weaknesses
- Impatience: I get easily annoyed when my friends and teammates perform at a
slower pace than I do because I set high work standards for myself, and I expect
everyone to do the same.
- Being easily distracted and hard to get back on track: I get distracted and lost
focus easily due to environmental factors such as physical noise, light or social
media use, as well as internal factors deriving from my emotion such as worries,
stress, or the bad quality of sleep. This has a significant impact on the quality of
my studies and work performance, so I am trying to limit social media use as
much as possible, prioritize goals and give myself a shorter time frame to get
things accomplished.
- Need more based-skill in coding: Coding skill is my other weaknesses. It took
me a long time to analyze the problems the lecturer gave and come up with a
solution. Another problem was that my approach was not optimal, and I had to
spend a lot of time correcting the errors. I am trying to develop this skill gradually
by directly asking the lecturer what I didn't understand during class time and my
friends who are good at programming if it was outside of school hours and took an
online coding course to broaden my knowledge about programming.
- Leadership skill: I am weak at conflict resolution skills. For fear of
disappointing others, I try to avoid conflict as much as possible. As a result, the
situation seems to get worse. Perhaps this weakness stems from my lack of
confidence or from being overly sensitive: I am always afraid of other people
thinking negatively about me, afraid of making them uncomfortable.
Consequently, I am unable to make consistent and certain decisions.

8
2.3. Opportunities
- The knowledge and skills I gained at UEL have assisted me in meeting
future market demands: At the University of Economics and Laws (UEL), I was
not only trained in specialized knowledge but also soft skills, social relationships,
and the discovery of my abilities and passions. Those are precious items that can
never be purchased with money.
- The development of technology: Nowadays, information technology is
advancing at a breakneck pace. It enables us to be active in learning and mastering
knowledge, assist people in finding work, and work more efficiently.
- A large market with many opportunities: Vietnam's e-commerce market is
proliferating and will continue to do so in the coming years. This has been proven
in other markets worldwide, including China, which is very similar to Vietnam in
many ways. This is why we are now seeing a large number of investment funds
and large corporations decide to enter and invest in the Vietnamese e-commerce
market because the majority of them are aware that this will be a "profitable"
market shortly. Now is the best time for anyone interested in getting into the field
of e-commerce. The understanding of human resources and the willingness of
Vietnamese consumers to buy and sell online has grown significantly over the
years. I believe that being an E-commerce student is my great strength.
- Working in multinational companies: Having a good command of English is
my advantage when applying to international companies. In addition to
qualifications and experience, English has become a recruitment criterion for some
businesses for candidates. It is not only a language, but it is also a key for new
recruits to quickly learn further information in an international foreign language
environment.
2.4. Threats:
- The complicated development of the COVID 19 pandemic situation: This has
a significant impact on my learning, especially to one who is easily distracted like

9
me. Besides, it prevents me from participating in clubs and outdoor activities,
resulting in a lack of practical knowledge.
- The quick development of technology: Although technological advancement
has provided many benefits to people, it also necessitates that each individual
constantly updates my knowledge and skills in order to avoid falling behind.
- Competition from students in the same and opposite majors: There are
numerous reasons to work in E-commerce, including its rapid advancement and
high salary. These are the factors that have resulted in many students, including
students who do not study e-commerce but are interested in fields related to e-
commerce. That necessitates an urgent need for me to constantly improve my
skills and professional knowledge in order to avoid being pushed out of the labor
market.

Springs in love.
A part-time job Besides taking part in extracurricular activities at the
university, I will spend time applying for a part-time job,
especially tutoring. With a sufficient amount of knowledge
gained in my high school years, I can help a pupil improve
academic performance. It does not help me make money,
but it also helps me learn how to convey knowledge to
others effectively. If possible, I will choose an English
subject so that my English skills can be improved day by
day
Table 3.2. My second-year plan
3.2.3. The third year:
In contrast to the first and second years, the third year has been a period in which I

emphasis on practice. Besides, I will take an IELTS test to submit to my university

16
CHAPTER IV. Building a career path
4.1. Orientation:
Based on the MBTI personality test, IKIGAI diagram, and SWOT analysis,
I've decided that a career as a Business Analyst is the best fit for me. After
realizing that I had passed the E-commerce major of UEL, I did a lot of
research and had the opportunity to know the seniors who have achieved
success in this field, such as Mia Thu Huong, Kim Chi (owner) Youtube
channel Na's Stories). Since then, I have received great inspiration to become a
BA (Business Analyst).
4.2. Business analyst:

the business side and the technical team. A BA's primary responsibility is to work
with customers, hear and understand their needs, and then suggest, create

changes through each updated version.

- Writing software business requirements specification documents, use case
specification documents; prototype interface design

customer requirements to be met.
- System manual documentation.
- Organize guidance and support for users to use the product and handle problems
when problems occur.
- Perform other duties as requested by superiors.
4.2.3. Hiring company
- Shopee: Shopee Pte Ltd is a Singaporean multinational technology company
that focuses mainly on e-commerce.
- VNG: VNG Corporation is a Vietnamese technology company founded in
2004, specializing in digital content and online entertainment, social
networking, and e-commerce. VNG focuses on four main businesses, including

correctly to the Dev department - IT skills are required.

improvement; problem-solving; decision-making ability; thinking system;
Analyze data, information, situations.

18
- Knowledge: Industry knowledge (Business, Technology, Management);
always cultivate new understanding; knowledgeable about the solutions.
- Qualities and attitudes: reliable; responsibility; adaptability.
- Interaction skills: simplify, clarify problems; leadership & influence;

consulting with customers.

Figure 4.1. The skills needed for a Business Analyst

4.2.5. Salary
The Salary of BA in Vietnam is also relatively high:

- Beginner salary (0 - 1year experience) from 7 - 12 million VND/month.

19
- Junior salary (1 - 2 years experience): from 12 - 20 million VND/month.

- Senior Salary (3 - 5 experience depending on the company, operating model):

from 20 - 35 million VND/month.

- Principal Salary: average from 50 - 65 million VND/month for large and foreign
companies.

4.2.4. Promotion opportunities:

Entry-level:
– A position for beginners, fresh graduates, BA interns, or 1-2 years of working
experience.
– Requirements: basic knowledge of BA, skills, and qualities of BA.
– Will receive support from senior BA, knowledge support to take on better work.

done many projects.

problems, propose solutions, connect teams and handle related conflicts…
Proficient in related support tools.
- Business Analyst Masters degree.
4.3. Implementation plan

20
With strengths in IT and software, I have the advantage to approach BA because
of the characteristics of work related to data and systems. Because of that feature,
most IT students have poor communication skills because they have to work with
computers most of the time. But in BA's job, I have to communicate plans,
projects, and requests of customers to the departments, have to communicate
directly with customers to receive requests, handle problems, communicate
information to stakeholders, so if the ability to communicate does not guarantee
the requirements, the work efficiency will not be guaranteed. I will try to
participate in meetings, conferences, or discussions, work in main groups so that I
can improve my communication skills.

In addition, I also need to supplement the basic knowledge of other operations

such as management, accounting, finance, etc., to be flexible in projects in
different economic fields.

CHAPTER V: CONCLUSION
Developing a detailed study plan as well as building a specific career path has
helped me have a better overview of my future, know how to divide my time
appropriately and focus on developing what skills to achieve my goal.

It is unavoidable that mistakes will be made on my assignments, so that I am

delighted to receive your suggestions, lecturer Lam Hong Thanh, who is in charge
of teaching Introduction to E-commerce, for improving my work.
