ACTIVITY NO. 8
IV. ASSESSMENT ACTIVITIES
Name: Divina, Jomar S. TOPIC: ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP

Major/Year: BSE SCIENCE 2 Deadline: JUNE 25, 2022

A. SELF-CHECK ACTIVITY:
Guide Questions:

1. Have you encountered a teacher in high school who has the characteristics of a
leader? Or a manager? Describe your experience with him/her in your class. -As
time progressed, I encountered many various attitudes from different teachers,
and sure, I did encounter a teacher with leadership qualities. His students
appreciate his integrity, delegation, communication skills, gratitude, and impact.
He's a humble, patient teacher. Having him in my class was a privilege since I
learned a lot about his subject and how to be a successful leader and educator in
the future.

2. Were you able to meet a teacher who wants to be served by students instead
of rendering his/her best service to his/her clients? Describe your
experience. - Yes, I can meet a teacher who wants to be served by students
instead of clients. My experience with that teacher wasn't great because she
delegated much of her work to her students. She even shared the immoral
task of encoding student grades with us. She assigned reports without
entering class. We did her responsibilities and a self-study because she
wasn't in class often, which made me upset and frustrated because an
unprofessional teacher might develop an unproductive student.

3. Have you started developing your leadership skills that would be needed
when you teach someday? How? - Based on my own experiences as a
student, I believe that I am beginning to build the leadership abilities
that will be necessary when I eventually teach. Learning to be a leader
in groups and other academic pursuits comes with actual hands-on
experience. In addition, I've had the opportunity to participate in
various academic activities, which has helped me develop a wide range
of leadership abilities, because I feel that being a strong leader is also
about being a member. Leaders are the ones who should serve their
followers, not the other way around.

4. When you teach someday, what kind of leader would you like to be? Why? When I teach, I
want to be a democratic leader who allows people to participate in decision-making.
Decisions are arrived at by way of consensus. Moreover, there is the genuine engagement of
the members of the organization, which I truly want to happen when I teach eventually. I
want my complete student to participate in every choice that we are going to make, it is for
them to know that I am willing to listen to their thoughts and recommendations, and at the
same time it is also for them to become responsible participants in my class in the future.

5. Do you have plans of going into managing teachers and students in an educational
institution? Why? Why not? - Yes, I do intend to work in an educational setting
where I will supervise both teachers and students. In a classroom, I think teachers
have a few different jobs to play, but one of the most significant ones is that of the
classroom manager. Teaching and learning are both hampered by ineffective
classroom management. It appears that educators are successful with students of
varying degrees of achievement, despite the difference in the types of courses
offered. Regardless of the children's level of academic success, if the teacher is
incompetent, the intellectual development of the students in her care will be
severely hindered.
