TRAINING DESIGN

TITLE: 2-Day Cluster-based training-workshop on ICT Integrated Teaching

DATE: September 7-8, 2021
VENUE: Online via GMeet
RATIONALE:
In order to continue providing basic quality education to students amid the
public health condition that has been brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, it is
imperative that DepEd Carcar City Division provides continuous learning to the
teachers that help them in executing the mandated KRA’s.
In view of the above statements, and in connection with the preferred learning
modalities-Modular and Recorded Video Lesson, which Carcar City Division has
practiced for a year now, technology played a vital role.
Technology literacy in its very essence, is a term used to describe an individual's
ability to assess, acquire, and communicate information in a fully digital environment.
It is the ability to effectively use technology to access, evaluate, integrate, create and
communicate information to enhance the learning process through problem-solving
and critical thinking. It helps one to communicate, solve problems, and enhance life-
long learning skills for future progress.
What is really the role of technology in teaching and learning? Technology has
the ability to enhance relationships between teachers and students. When teachers
effectively integrate technology into subject areas, teachers grow into roles of adviser,
content expert, and coach.
It also changes the way teachers teach, offering educators effective ways to
reach different types of learners and assess student understanding through multiple
means. It also enhances the relationship between teacher and student. Technology
assists teaching and learning to become more meaningful and enjoyable.

Digital technologies on the other side, can shift the traditional role of teacher and
student both within and outside the classroom. Teachers can use digital technologies
to connect people with each other and to new information, ideas, and perspectives.
Students have access to mass information and many perspectives.

Deped Carcar City Division aims to capacitate proficient teachers to formulate

ICT-based teaching methods with the reasons stated above.

This 2-day training -workshop will be a good platform for proficient teachers to
enhance one’s competence in exploring technology applications in compliance to the
trends in digital Educational Technology, its relevant practice and applications to the
teaching -learning process.
