OF DRAMA
DRAMA

 It is a literary work that is intended to be


presented on a stage in front of an
audience or a group of audience.
 It is considered the type of literature
that takes advantage of people’s
visual and auditory senses.
 It has been said that it is an imitation
of life.
DRAMA

 Drama is derived from the Greek word


“dran” meaning to do or to act. It is
the actual written material or the script.
 Theater is from the Greek word
“theasthai” which means to behold. It
is the actual production and is the
enactment and interpretation of the
written material.
DRAMA

 Drama contains elements such as the


characters, plot, dialogue, and is
usually the first material to be
developed for doing theater.
 On the stage, drama combines many
arts—those of the author, director,
actor, designer, and others.

different types of genres. The type
of chosen genre varies depending
on the intent of the author. There
are six (6) types of drama:
Comedy, Tragedy, Melodrama,
Musical Drama, Historical
Drama, and Fantasy.
