Learning Resources: SLMs, Slide Share, TOPIC: Creating your Own Character Google COMPETENCY: Conceptualizing a Character/Setting/ Plot for a One-Act Play Online Discussion: As a warm up activity, present to the online class a series of Telenovela characters that are relevant to the Philippines: Amaya, Mulawin, Encantadia and Darna ACTIVITY Ask the following questions: 1. Why are these characters unique to the Philippine Audience? 2. What are some notable characters from Filipino Authors do you know of? 3. What are some traits of the characters mentioned that help them define what their roles are in the story? In a discussion, ask the students the question below with the following prompts: PROMPTS: The teacher will discuss a hero of his/her choice by breaking down the characteristics ANALYSIS of that character. The teacher can also mention the back story and origin of the hero. He then relates to the character by citing similar experiences that he experienced just like what the hero had in his story. QUESTION: Who is your hero and how did that hero inspire you? Discuss on the concepts of Conceptualizing a Character for a One-Act Play in Page 6 to Page 7 of ABSTRACTION the SLMs. Discuss the following terms: personality, conceptualization, characterization The students chose their groupmates beforehand and prepare a group chat in groups of three. They are tasked to assign each other the following roles: 1. Protagonist 2. Antagonist 3. Supporting Role They will then conceptualize a short synopsis for their own TV show featuring the roles above. APPLICATION They will each discuss their chosen role by citing specific characteristics of that role and their significance to the story. They list their answers in their chat box to be sent to their teacher after the presentations. Their classmates are their raters and will score them on originality, presentation and relevance to their chosen story. Rubrics: ORIGINALITY: 40 points, PRESENTATION: 40 points, RELEVANCE: 20 points ASSESSMENT A short quiz of ten points will be conducted covering the terminologies of the lesson.
