LEARNING TASK 5: Managing the Classroom / Creating My
Classroom/Remote Learning
Management Plan Domain 2 Learning Environment

BRIEF INTRODUCTION:
A classroom manager is one of the most significant jobs that teachers play. In a
poorly managed classroom, effective teaching and learning are impossible. Both
teachers and students suffer when chaos becomes the norm. A well-managed, on the
other hand. The classroom creates a conducive setting for teaching and learning.
However, a well-managed classroom does not appear out of nowhere. It takes a good
deal of effort to create that conducive classroom climate, the person who is most
responsible for creating it is the teacher.
LEARNING INTENTS:
This Learning Task expects Student Interns to:
1. Explain the importance of my classroom management plan.
2. List down components of my classroom management plan,
3. Use professional reflections and learning to improve practice
4. Write my classroom management plan.

A teacher therefore must come up with a classroom management plan, a plan

that sets the expectations for every student. The purpose of this plan is to make the
students accountable for their actions. Effective classroom management increases
students’ success, enhances students’ academic skills and competencies and promotes
social and emotional development.
The teaching-learning process may be implemented in various modalities.
Teachers must bear in mind that alternatives and other options may be considered in
designing the plan.
A good learning environment produces highly engaged students who learn more,
do more, and work more. Teachers likewise become more creative and productive in
their work.

Some basic Principles to guide the teacher in Classroom Management:

1. Consistent, proactive discipline is the crux of effective classroom
management. If we are proactive in our approach to discipline, we prevent
unnecessary problems from cropping up. Appropriate adage to this principle is
“Prevention is better than cure.”
2. Establish routines for all daily tasks and needs. Doyle says “routinization
makes classroom activities less susceptible to breakdowns and interruptions
because student know the normal sequence of event and what is expected of
them. (Ornstein)
3. Orchestrate smooth transitions and continuity of momentum
throughout the day. This will ensure that every instructional moment is used
wisely. Lull moment can be created that will breed classroom restlessness,
which is the father of disciplinary problems.
4. Strike a balance between variety and challenge in students’ activities.
Meaning to say avoid extremely easy or difficult activities, balance activities will
keep our learners reasonably occupied.
5. As classroom manager, be aware of all actions and activities in the
classroom. Kounin calls this
With-it-ness.
6. Resolve minor inattention and disruption before they become major
disruptions. It is like saying “a stitch on time saves nine”. Misdemeanor has a
“ripple effect” if we don’t check early minor disruptions.
7. And more…

Key Elements for Effective Classroom Management:

1. Classroom Design – referring to seating arrangement, bulletin boards, display,
storage area, equipment, supplies etc.
2. Rules – expectations set at the beginning of the class to foster love, care,
respect and sense of community in the class.
3. Discipline- classroom rules must define the consequences of every
action/misdemeanor in class to ensure fairness and consistency in dealing with
the students. This also includes the rewards given for good behavior.
4. Scheduling- includes time allotment given for each period and activity in class
this will make the students to stay on time and on task.
5. Organization- the systematic arrangement of files and records and keeping
them organized always and ready for use.
6. Instructional Techniques- are ways by which you implement your learning
content, tailoring your techniques to the subject, grade levels and nature of the
learner.
7. Communication- there should be consistent open lines of communication to all
stakeholders of the school community will lead to better teacher-student teacher
relationship.

teaching/item/1735-seven-key-elements-for-effective-classroom-
management

In order to implement these elements effectively, a classroom management plan

must be designed. Each teacher has its own unique style of management to meet class
needs, although the same elements are found consistently. In order for a classroom
management plan to be successful, the students must have a complete understanding
of each of the guidelines. At the same time, teachers must follow their plan to ensure
that the learning environment is safe, friendly, secured and non-threatening whether in
the classroom or in remote learning.

MY CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT PLAN

Philosophical Statement

I will create a safe, enjoyable, and cooperative learning environment, discipline will
be applied as soon as possible and as necessary. Every student in my class will begin
each day with a clean slate, each student will get the one-on-one attention they need
to succeed and always guided by the rules will they can act base on the given
classroom guidelines

Classroom Rules and Procedures

To ensure the discipline of my students, I will establish classroom rules and

procedures such as:
1. be kind with your teacher and classmates
2. Turn up to class on time
3. Listen to your teacher
4. Be respectful to the school grounds
5. Put your hand up if you'd like to speak
6. Make others happy
7. Concentrate
8. Respect everyone in the class
9. Show your teacher respect and pay attention to what he or she says.
10. Maintain a clean classroom all the time.

Teacher-Student Relationships

I am a teacher, and with that comes the responsibility of a teacher to educate them
in life, and properly prepare them for their future. I feel my job is so much deeper
than education itself not just job but a noble profession as well. Procedures students'
lives outside of the classroom are one of the main components of making them want
to learn inside the classroom. This shows you care about the individual, not just the
brain. I am a caring teacher, for that is my responsibility. Students these days need
you in their lives more than ever.

Schedules and Timeframes

In terms of time and scheduling, I will organize my class schedule based on what my
heads give to me. I will make every part of my lesson interesting and interactive in
order to keep my students attention on the task at hand. I should always draw the
attention of all my students, even those in the back. I should also take into account
their emotions and circumstances.

Classroom Structure, Design and Arrangements

I will provide materials that will aid in the growth and development of my students in
order to create a conducive learning environment in my classroom. I’ll also include
some technology that will use in class on a daily basis, furthermore, I will eliminate
anything that can cause distraction and stress.

Classroom Safety, Rules and Procedures

To ensure the safety and security of my students, I will provide a medicine cabinet in
case something go wrong. For security reasons, the classroom should have two doors
and a fire extinguisher. I will impose rules such as requiring students to notify me if
they have any concerns, posting a cellphone number in case of emergency, and
prohibiting students from leaving the campus during class hours to ensure their
safety.
Strategies for rewards and Consequences

I intend to impose class rules and procedures that will hold the students accountable
for their actions, and I believe the students will comply if sanctions and rewards are
attached to each rule. Classroom rules ensure that every student know their action
and behavior inside the classroom.

Effective classroom management: Establishes and sustains an orderly

environment in the classroom. Increases meaningful academic learning and
facilitates social and emotional growth wherein student can act based on the
classroom management plan to maintain conducive classroom for everybody.
Since A classroom management plan is a set of rules designed to hold
students accountable for their behavior. It also details procedures for how a
classroom operates throughout a school day, such as procedures for when
students take tests or when there are emergency situations.

The effectiveness of classroom management plan would be possible if the

teacher and student make they role as fulfillment with the classroom guidelines
and see classroom unity. moreover, good classroom management is equal to
organized and conducive classroom.

“How many things would be different in everyone’s surroundings if we hadn’t

lived? How a good word many have encouraged some fellow and did something to
him that he did it differently and better than he would otherwise. And through him
somebody else was saved. How much we contribute to each other, how powerful
we each are-and don’t know it.”
