1) Listening module
a) Listening Part 1 (5-7 minutes, 10 questions. 30 seconds before the track
begins, 30 seconds in the middle of the track, 30 seconds after it ends) - a
dialogue;
b) Listening Part 2 (5-7 minutes, 10 questions. 30 seconds before the track
begins, 30 seconds in the middle of the track, 30 seconds after it ends) - a
monologue;
c) Listening Part 3 (5-7 minutes, 10 questions. 30 seconds before the track
begins, 30 seconds in the middle of the track, 30 seconds after it ends) - two
or three people talking, usually students and sometimes a professor.
d) Listening Part 4 (6-7 minutes, 10 questions. 60 seconds before the track
begins, nothing in the middle of the track, 30 seconds after it ends) - an
academic kind of lecture read by one person.
e) Computer test: 2 minutes after everything ends to check your answers /
Paper test: 10 minutes after everything ends to check and transfer your
answers to the answer sheet.
2) Reading module
a) 60 minutes, 3 texts, 40 questions in total.
b) Answer sheet transfer is included into these 60 minutes.
3) Writing module
a) Writing Task 1. 20 minutes -you have to describe some kind of a graph/chart.
Minimum 150 words;
b) Writing Task 2. 40 minutes - you have to write an essay on a given topic.
Minimum 250 words.
c) Time management is very important - both tasks are given to you together
and you have 60 minutes to do them both!
4) Speaking module
a) Speaking Part 1: approximately 5 minutes and 10 questions about your life.
Short answers, approximately 30-40 seconds each, no preparation time.
b) Speaking Part 2: a card given to you that has the main topic and sub-points.
One minute to prepare, 2-3 minutes to speak. You can make notes on the
card if necessary.
c) Speaking Part 3: an interview on a similar to Part 2 topic. Approximately 2-4
questions, no preparation time, one minute of answering each question. Your
answers must consist of your opinion and an example that does not come
from your own life experience.
