"Factors in Handling Work that Affects the Students

Health at Jose Rizal University"

In today’s modern generation, handling of work in any way can lead to mental health issues for

everyone that triggers and affects how they will handle their certain responsibility. In a more

specific view, students have different approaches to dealing with schoolwork based on their

abilities and techniques on how they will deal with it. They also depend on their capabilities if

they are proficient enough at experiencing this kind of workload in academics. Schoolwork is the

work that students are required to do as part of their responsibilities as individuals studying and

learning. In research by Karambelas (2019), students often prioritize academics at the expense of

personal factors, including relationships. This can lead to a decline in academic performance as

general health and well-being are critical to optimal academic functioning.

This is an important issue today, especially because many factors can exacerbate the situation,

and many students are unsure how to handle certain tasks without jeopardizing their overall

health. This research focuses more on factors in handling work that affect students' health,

specifically issues related to mental health, since experiencing it by some is not impossible.

According to Bhasin (2019), there is a statistically significant relationship between academic

achievement and health, and it is often complex.

Due to the uncontrollable workload, along with the heavy expectations and personal problems, it

results in having health issues. It then becomes a major factor why many students are struggling

to balance their lives as students, and it changes how they usually face their everyday lives. This

issue is not that widely talked about by the public since it is perceived by others as not an
important matter that can eventually be solved. However, according to the World Health

Organization, health is not merely the absence of diseases, but a complete state of well-being

(Section 3: Concepts of Health and Wellbeing | Health Knowledge, n.d.).

Hence, this issue needs to be introduced to others, specifically to those who are the focus of the

study, so they can be informed about this matter. This problem can have a huge impact on

society if it is not addressed right away, because the health of the students here is at stake. This

study needs to explore the factors that affect students' health in order to resolve it in terms of

determining the health state of each respondent. Researchers' goal for this research is to identify

the factors in study that trigger the health of every student at any grade level and to provide data

showing the results of all the factors.

As stated earlier, the focus of this study is the factors in handling work that affect the health of

the students at Jose Rizal University, with no limitation on the population, so this will benefit

everyone. We, as the researchers of this study, aim to elaborate on the different factors in

handling work that affect students' health in order to provide reliable and trustworthy information

for all. Researchers chose this topic to be conducted since it is not open to the public. Moreover,

this would also solve how the factors of handling work affect each student. This research is still

seeking an answer. Therefore, the stated research problems are expected to be answered at the

end of the study by assessing the responses, and this should fill the research gaps with accurate

and resourceful data statements.

Objectives:

● To identify what factors in studying affect the students health the most.

● To provide an overview to the students' experience in studying during the pandemic.

● To present the data statement of all the factors that affect students in general.
In research from Lumen Learning (n.d.), research has shown that students who get involved in

career-planning activities stay in college longer, graduate on time, improve their academic

performance, and tend to be more goal-focused and motivated.
