Poem 1:

After you will earn your degree, will you consider migrating to another country? If you
answer is “yes,” which of the stanzas will be closest to your reason for migration? Explain
briefly. If your answer is “no,” which of the stanzas will explain your answer?

- I want to migrate to another country because I have my personal reasons. The stanza closest to
my reason for migration is “You go because God
has given you a sign – you had a dream – the potatoes are blighted.
Because it is too hot, too cold, you are on a quest for knowledge
and knowledge is always beyond. You go because it’s destiny,
because Pharoah won’t let you light candles at sundown on Friday.
Because you’re looking for an enchanted lake, the meaning of life, a tall tree to nest in” because
I believe that there are many opportunities in other countries than here in the Philippines. I want
to explore, I want to learn many things, I want to know how far I can go, I want to know how far
my capabilities can reach and I want to increase my knowledge of carious things.

Poem 2:
If you were the child of this mother, how would you respond to her pain and
explanation? Your answer should be in a form of a letter that is not more than 150
words.

Dear Mama,
I want to thank you for all the things you did to me. Thank you for taking care for
me, thank you for supporting me and my dreams, thank you for feeding me and thank
your loving me. Ma, I promise that I will do my best to finish my studies and got a job. I
will repay you for all you have done to me. I will promise that I will make you the
proudest and happiest Queen here in Earth.

Yours forever,
Adrian Paul B. Olayo
