LANGUAGE PROJECT 2021-22
"Knowledge of languages is the doorway to wisdom."

It’s never too early to begin learning a language: it’s fun, it promotes healthy development, and the many
cognitive and social benefits will last a lifetime.
Let us embark our journey towards attaining wisdom ….. through a language project.
This Diwali, let us eliminate the darkness of ignorance and light the lamp of knowledge…. by learning
new words in different languages.
The work done by the students will be compiled to create a multi-lingual dictionary/Pictionary

Instructions-

 The teacher will form the groups. No. of students per group- at least 10 Though this is group project
work students will work individually due to the ongoing Covid 19 conditions.
 A theme will be allotted to each group.
 Students will collect the words according to the theme allotted to the group.
 Each child will collect five words according to the theme
 Ensure there should be no repetition of words in the group.
 Each word has to be in the following languages-
English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Marathi, French and German.
 Each language is defined by a specific colour –
English- RED
Sanskrit- GREEN
Hindi- LIGHT BLUE
Marathi- PURPLE,
French – MAROON
German- MUSTARD YELLOW
 The sequence of languages and colours should be the same, as given in the template/format.
 Two examples (school and flower) have been provided for reference.
 How to go about with the project?
 Step 1 Copy the given template
 Step 2 Choose a word according to a theme
 Step 3 Copy and paste the picture in the space provided
 Step 4 Find out what that word is called in the required languages
 Step 5 Copy and paste the word in the template according to the colour mentioned
above.
 Step 6 Repeat the above steps (1 to 5) for the remaining 4 words

Specification for picture and table-

 Picture should be 9 x 9 cm( only coloured pictures only).
 Table - Row size- 3.25 cm; Column- 6 cm
 The order of a particular word in a different language should as per the template provided.
 Each language is defined by a specific colour –
English- RED, Sanskrit- GREEN, Hindi- LIGHT BLUE, Marathi- PURPLE,
French – MAROON, German- MUSTARD YELLOW.
