1. Hum the sound of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star with your mouth close.
2. Say your name without producing a sound.
3. Clap your hand 3 times without your palms touching and stamp your feet on the ground 3
times.
When you hum, is there a sound that is audible?
How about when you clap without touching the palms? The stomping?
When you said your name, is there a sound?
B. Show the class a clock. Let them hear the ticking sound of the clock.

This activity we did is about rhythm where sound and silence is produced thrpygh pattern.

Sound is a type of vibration.


Silence is the lack of audible sound or presence of sound.

When I clap without my palms touching, there is no sound. Now when I clap (with sound) and clap
(without sound, there is a pattern. There is a beat formed.

Beat is a pattern producing a sound and no sound. A basic impulse of music.
