1.0 WHAT IS A COMPUTER?


A computer is an electronic device that is
designed to work with information. It accept raw
data from input device, processes it on the
processor also known as (C.P.U), and give the
output as an information from an output device.
The term computer is derived from the Latin word
“Computare”, this means to calculate or

2.0 WHAT IS AN INDUSTRY?

An Industry is a group of companies that are related


based on their primary business activities.

Individual companies are generally classified into an


industry based on their largest sources of income. i.e.
Industry is a group of similar businesses based on the
primary product produced or sold. So it creates
industry groups, which can be used to isolate
businesses from those who participate in different
activities. (David Gorton, investopedia.com)

Legal refers to something acceptable or permitted


by the law.

Legal Industry refers to group of companies or


businesses that provides legal goods and services
(Wikipedia).

and production, they are used to
monitor processes, acquiring and
analysing data.

communications via email, messenger
systems, conferencing and word processing.
RESEARCH: Businesses can use computers to
research industry trends, patents,

competitors via search engines and
proprietary databases.

paper files containing hard copy documents
are still in use, organizations also store and
manage their data using software and the
cloud.

computers to create new products and
services.
