SOLVING PROBLEMS INVOLVING OBLIQUE TRIANGLES USING THE LAW OF SINES

Name: _______________________________Section:________________ Score:_____ Date:_______

I. Introduction
Hello Kid! This Learning Activity Sheets is another tool to help deepen your
understanding and master the mathematical concepts and principles in solving
problems involving oblique triangles using the Law of Sines. Enjoy while
learning!

II. Learning Objectives

After answering this activity sheets, you must be able to:

1. find the unknown parts of an oblique triangle using the Law of Sines.
2. solve problems involving oblique triangles using the Law of Sines. (M9GE-
IVh-j-1)

Always remember health is wealth, so stay at home but continue to study and
learn more skills.
III. Vocabulary Words

Before we proceed to our lesson, let us first identify the unfamiliar words that we might
encounter in this activity. Are you ready?

Oblique triangle is a triangle which does not contain any right angle.
Acute triangle is a triangle whose angles are all less than 900 .
Obtuse triangle is a triangle in which one of the angles is more than 900
Law of Sines (Sine rule) - used to find measures of the sides and angles of an oblique triangle
when given either a.) two angles and one side or b.) two sides and a non-included angle.

IV. Learning Activities

In our previous lessons, we have learned how to illustrate the parts

of a triangle using the Law of Sines. Now, let us recall it by filling-up the
boxes with the proper values given in the illustration below.

WELL DONE ! You were able to fill-up the proper values in the above
proportions. It means you are now ready to apply the Law of Sines in solving
problems involving oblique triangles. Let’s keep going.

Always Remember!! The correspondence of

proportion between the side and angle of triangles using a
the Law of Sines is always the angle as to its opposite side.
