These days, having material possessions and money is far more attractived with people

than maintaining friendships and family bonds. In my opinion, I partly agree with that
point of view.
To begin with, it needs to be admitted that consumerism is one of the fundamental
reasons behind the desire of possessing material. People have been forced to be
consumerists in the capitalist world. In this way, the cork of capitalism can be spun with
the demand of people for buying. To illustrate that many advertisements on the
mainstream media can entice people's instinct for owning unnecessary possessions.
Spending time for earning income has been increased instead of spending time for
socialising.
On the other hand, it cannot be denied that interpersonal skills has a few advantages
like impacts the economy of the country and improves diversity in the workplace. Firstly,
there are multiple nationalities working together in industries, which increases the
productivity of the organisation, and as a result it impacts the economy of the country.
Secondly, multinational companies have workers speaking different languages in their
workplace. Many of them can share their ideas with each other which may help other job
holders to understand their individual experiences and social activities. As a result,
workers are encouraged to learn and share distant cultures leads them to a healthy
environment that is beneficial for the nation.
To conclude, while there are more consideration of owning material possessions can be
seen amongst people today, the importance of bonding friendships and family
relationships can be denied. I believe that both owning material possessions and
interpersonal skills are necessary.
