Procedure MARKING PLAN PROCEDURE
1. Purpose:

To establish a Marking system for Items in Fabrication of Steel Structure with respect to Fabrication
Drawings and shipment documents.

2. Responsibility

• The production Engineers are responsible for applying the procedure at the workshop.
• The Quality Control Engineers are responsible for check proper application of the procedure.
• Technical office is in charge of specifying the mark location.

3. PROCEDURE
3.1. Incoming materials.

• QC Material engineer issue MRIR using form # FQP-8.6A-1B and submitted copy to storekeeper.
• Storekeepers use painting colors to identify raw materials and its equivalents referring to grades on
remarkable place as follows:

S/N Material Color Code

1 S235 (JR, Jo, J2) Yellow
2 S275 (JR, Jo, J2) Gray. White
3 S355 (JR, Jo, J2) Green.
5 Other Grades Red

3.2. Code of Identification as follows:

• The Serial Number must be identified and marked before the beginning of the component welding
process,
• All plates will be marked with Part No. and Heat No.
• QC material inspector mark code number as per incoming material log using Paint marker.
• Numbers and letters will be applied in such a way they are easily readable after the surface
treatments (painting, shout blasting …) has been completed.
• The marking will include (FMC Project no.- DWG no. - Item no.)
