Course Objectives:

 The purpose of the course is to acquaint the students with the idea that the Indian Constitution is a normative constitution with value aspirations. The
Indian Constitution envisages to establish a justice system with legal technique.
 The course seeks to introduce the student to the relevance of inalienable fundamental rights and restrictions in the Constitution of India and the
principles that ought to guide policy making in India.
 To acquire basic knowledge about different systems of judicial review and how the courts protect fundamental rights in India.

Pre-requisites: The students should have the basic knowledge of Constitutional Law-I paper

Module VI Directive Principles of State Policy and Fundamental Duties


Directive Principles; Nature and reasons for incorporation, inter-relationship between fundamental rights and directive 10

Course Learning Outcomes:

The outcomes for the course are that at the end the students will be able to:

 Recall, identify, describe and assess basic Constitutional issues pertaining to fundamental rights, fundamental duties and constitutional remedies.
 Understand the detailed analysis of fundamental freedoms and duties guaranteed under the Constitution of India.
 Apply Constitutional principles that may arise in hypothetical situations dealing with fundamental rights, fundamental duties and constitutional
remedies.
 Analyze the relevant doctrines and key cases in each major area of fundamental rights, fundamental duties and constitutional remedies.
 Examine the past and contemporary developments in constitutional law.
 By the end of this course, students will be able to design an independent research project in constitutional law.

well as current cases shall be discussed to clear queries & doubts and to make concepts more clear.
