Project: Andritz Real Time Platform (RTP)

With the Andritz RTP software and IDEAS Simulator, one can create an Operator Training
System (OTS) for the plant. These features introduce the operators to the Human Machine
Interface (HMI), facilitate training and can assist in operator certification. The built-in training
features in the RTP strengthen the trainers’ ability to train their students. Specific training
courses can be created, saved, and instantly loaded using the Snapshot feature. Specific
malfunctions built into the IDEAS simulation software allow process equipment (valves,
transmitters, pumps, etc.) to fail at the push of a button. These are just a few of the features
that make RTP a powerful tool for providing operators with the training they require.
