Materials
Any lace yarn. All colors are all of the same weight. My yarn is 100% mercerized cotton,
Pelican by Vita 330 m/50 gr (365 yds/1.76 oz) in two colors
Matching hook. Mine is 0.75 mm (metric)
Filler
Mouline embroidery floss, pink to embroider the nose and paws, black to embroider the
eyes and metallized floss to embellish the brooch with French knots
Any means to add tone to the cheeks and body. I used black and red dry pastels +
blender blush
Brooch pin, mine is 2 cm
Scissors, fine needle
Pins
Stitch marker (I have a contrasting
thread)
If you use the materials mentioned
above, the size of the brooch will be 3.5
x 3.5 cm (~ 1.4 x 1.4 inches)
Making tail
Dark-purple:
1. 5 sc in MR
2. - 6. (5 rounds) 5 sc
Cut the yarn, pull up the hole shut.
Stretch out the tail thus making it thinner and longer.

Pick up the constricted end of the tail, make one 1 sc, secure with a chain st. Cut and
weave in the end.
Making head
Light-purple. Stuff as you go. I stuff quite
tightly.

Continue to crochet the body
In a round.

!!! Please note that stitches can move due to
the yarn thickness, crochet tension and
crochet manner. All the decreases of the
body are made on the sides to make the
brooch look flat. Make additional stitches if
needed.

Making ears (2)
Dark-purple yarn:

Making arm
Light-purple.
1. 6 sc in MR
2. - 4. (3 rounds) 6 sc

make the arm slightly bended down, crochet
the first 3 sc in the stitches of the round 3
(the round below). The remaining 3 sc as
usual. In order not to make the mistake and
avoid extra stitches, count the stitches from
the end (6)

10. Fold in halves and crochet through both
sides 5 sc.
Leave a tail to sew to the body, to attach the
pin and cut.

Sew at two point. The arm tightly fits the body.
9.
Embroider eyes. Add red tone to the cheeks,
dark – to the spots under the paws, ears, tail,
so that they do not fuse with the body.
Decorate with beads or French knots. Your
brooch is ready!
