Words of Gratitude

To our Chairman Board of Directors, Dr. Rafaelita P. Pelaez (Ma’am), University

President, Dr. Alain Marc P. Golez (Sir), esteemed faculty members, principals,
teachers, parents, and fellow students - good morning.

Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of
their dreams”. 2021 has surely been a rollercoaster ride of emotions. The global
pandemic has affected us in many different ways, as we were able to experience
unprecedented things - and the course of our young lives has changed. The sleepless
nights, jampacked schedules, sudden breakdowns, and all these hardships surely made
us doubt if we can still keep going – but then, look at where it led us, we finished this
school year firm and strong. These obstacles did not hinder us from reaching our
dreams, and aspirations. In fact, these very obstacles were our motivation to strive
harder and reach the top of our goals. Now, I can simply say how we’ve grown so much
- as young individuals who dared to dream their dreams. We have become empowered
and productive students who were able to hurdle the multifaceted tasks in this
challenging world and the youth who could face new challenges toward new horizons.

To my fellow Liceans, today is a memorable day for all of us as this day marks the
beginning of a new chapter in our high school lives as we embark on a new journey,
leaving the doors of Junior High School. The journey may have been long and tough,
and laden with challenges, but we cannot deny the fact that our blood, sweat, and tears
have surely paid off. Of course, we will not be able to go this far without the amazing
people who helped us and guided us in our quest for knowledge. No amount of words
can fully express how grateful we are for your love and sacrifice.

With this, I would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude to all our
teachers for continuously inspiring and bringing out the best in each one of us. Thank
you for your never-ending support, and utmost dedication in helping us out and
motivating us to adapt to this new mode of learning.

To the proud parents who are celebrating with us today, a big thank you! Thank you for
all your sacrifices, and for your unwavering support for us despite having distance
learning. Your unconditional love is what kept us going.

And of course, to our ever-amazing, unfailing, All-Mighty God who sheltered and
protected us in these trying times. We wouldn’t have made it this far if it wasn’t for His
divine grace, and never-ending love.
And to my fellow Liceans, congratulations for doing a job well done. Our dedication,
hard work, and sleepless nights have indeed paid off.

The moment I finish this speech, you may think that it’s already the end but to tell you
honestly, the end is just the beginning of another journey that waits for us in the next
chapters of our lives. As we embark on a brand new journey, let us continue to remind
ourselves that we are capable. You are capable. Believe in yourself, make smart goals,
and be committed to fulfilling them. If you have the passion and strong will, then no
obstacles can stop you from obtaining your goal.

As Walt Disney said, “all our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue
them”. Very soon, I believe that we will be able to reach that beautiful destination that
we’ve all been dreaming of. With that, I hope that you never lose hope to keep on
dreaming, even in the uncertainty, even in the waiting. Thank you and hats off to all
