C-Series Mechanical-Set
Liner Hanger
The Weatherford C-Series Mechanical-Set Liner Hanger is an alternative to
welded cone liner hangers. The C-Series Liner Hanger features a single-
piece wire-lock cone. This, in conjunction with the new slip design (six slips
per cone), creates a system in which the liner hanger is not the limitation.
Liner weights can approach the rated capacity without fear of cone collapse
or hanger-body ID deflection.
Features
! 100% non--welded construction
! Single- and dual- cone versions with six slips per cone
! Optimized slip design, fully wickered with sharp contact edges
! Modular kit design can be used with most available casing
! One-piece cylinder/piston with solid back-up rings
Benefits
! True tensile integrity is achieved by eliminating welding and not
altering the chemistry of the casing body
! Body deflection minimized, more load transfers into the casing and
less into the cone
! Increased bypass areas
! Hanging capacity rivals and or exceeds many premium liner hangers
Application
! Any liner job in which no liner rotation is necessary or practical during
cleanup or cementing operations

PH Mechanical-Set Packer
Hanger Combo
The Weatherford PH Mechanical-Set Packer Hanger Combo is an economical
combination of a liner-top packer and a liner hanger. The packer elements are
activated by the weight of the liner after the cage is released and the slips of
the hanger portion are engaged.
Features
! Single packing element provides a reliable pressure seal at the liner top
! Available in right or left-hand set
Benefits
! The PH can be run on a variety of liner-setting tools.
Applications
! The PH is typically used as the lower packer on a scab liner to isolate a
damaged section of casing.

Features
! The pack-off is retrieved on the running-tool string to leave the liner ID
open to drift
! Incorporates jointed system to eliminate liner wiper-plug movement before
cementing
! Released by shifting the inner sleeve and shearing the shear screw
allowing the dogs to retract into the body.
Benefits
! Reduces the hydraulic lifting forces that affect the running-tool string during
cementing operations, especially when the wiper plug is bumped
! Eliminates need to drill out a pack-off on a subsequent trip into the well
! Because the slick joint is not directly connected to liner wiper plug, the liner
wiper plug does not have to be pulled backwards inside the liner when the
operator picks up to verify release of the running tool
! Saves rig time by eliminating the need to drill out an aluminum pack-off
bushing at the liner top
Applications
! The RSM pack-off is used as the liner top seal between the running string
and the liner. This allows pressure to be built up against a ball seat further
down the hole to set hydraulic type liner hangers. It also ensures that all
circulation of mud or cement is down through the bottom of the liner and
not around the bottom of the running string at the liner top. The liner wiper
plug system can be attached to the RSM pack-off by means of joints.

HD Cementing Manifold
The Weatherford HD Heavy-Duty Cementing Manifold is constructed with the
drillpipe plug retainer and swivel mechanism below the elevators. Fluid flow
through the manifold is directed either above or below the pumpdown plug by
external valves. With the upper valves closed and the lower valve open,
cement will bypass the plug until it is time to release the plug. To release the
pumpdown plug, which cleans the drillpipe of cement, the plug-retaining pin
must be retracted, then the upper valve opened and the lower valve closed.
This positive, three-step operation reduces the possibility of accidentally
releasing the pumpdown plug before the total cement volume has been
pumped. The HD manifold is fitted with a ball-dropping sub for use when a
hydraulic-set liner hanger is to be run. The ball is held in its retainer by the
retaining pin and can only be released by retracting the pin to open the port.
Features
! Positive, three-step operation
! Ball-dropping sub option for hydraulic-set liner hangers
! Heavy-duty swivel
Benefits
! Reduces the possibility of accidentally releasing the pumpdown plug
! Swivel permits easy manipulation of the workstring without having to break
down the cementing lines
Applications
! General-purpose manifold where rotation of the workstring may be required
! Good for cement jobs where reliable plug-release action is desired

Flag Indicator
The Weatherford Flag Indicator provides a visible indication that a plug has
been launched from the cementing head. The indicator is located at the
bottom of the cementing head assembly. After the drillpipe dart leaves the
cement head launcher, it passes through the flag indicator and shifts (rotates)
a pin, which in turn rotates the flag pin outside the body. This indication gives
immediate assurance that the drillpipe dart is moving downhole.
Features
! Uses standard drillpipe connections
! Can be reset and used for multiple plug latches during a cement job
! Mechanical properties such as burst, collapse, and tensile strength are
equal to or better than the workstring
Benefits
! Positive indication assures that a physical barrier exists between the
cement and displacement fluids.
Applications
! Use on any service job requiring the surface release of drillpipe darts.
