authors by time period and learn about literary genres.

Activity Steps:
1. The teacher will assign students to write down individual notes in their English notebooks.
2. The teacher will introduce the APA format to students. The teacher will explain when to
appropriately use in text citations and the reference page.
3. The teacher will call on individual students to sort when to cite on slide 3 of the classflow
lesson plan (this step should take around 5 minutes.
4. The teacher will test the students' knowledge on slide 7 of the classflow lesson plan. Students
will work in pairs of 3 or 4 depending on class size to create both an example of in-text citations
and a reference list (this step should take around 5 minutes).
5. The teacher will assign students to individually create a citation (both in-text and reference
page) with three authors on slide 10 of the classflow lesson plan (this step should take around
5-10 minutes).
6. The teacher will assign students to individually create a citation (both in-text and reference
