USE THE SHORT BELOW TO ANSWER THE QUIZ

The theatre curtains remain closed but we can hear a great upheaval as shouts and grunts fill the air.
Crashing chariots and gurgling can be heard with smashing sounds of a slice here and there. Despair
pervades, screams rent the air as we are still in the dark regarding what is unfolding behind the scenes
(curtains). Military styled music rise in crescendo, iron helmets are heard clanging endlessly as we
hear sounds of great and manic charges. This commotion reaches a climactic level and there is a
sudden cessation of hostilities. Slowly, the curtains part open, the heavy breathing of Prince Aruan
sends chills down the spine of all within ear-shot. He is tall, dark and physically all muscled up. When
a flick of light comes up, only the tip of his blade is revealed dripping with blood. As the intensity of
light brightens more, we can see the heap of corpses lying on each other, there is hardly a space to
step foot on if there is need for movement. The spot light which has now revealed his form against
the background and foreground gives a picture of a blood spluttered gladiator.

Barely is Prince Aruan able to catch his breath before we hear a flourish of royal trumpets and
cymbals. King Kokori arrives, heavily guarded by men in iron vests. Kokori walks towards Aruan who
bows in reverence and hands over his sword to Kokori in obeisance. As the sword balances in the
hand of Kokori’s fist, he swings it without hesitation slicing Aruan’s head off his shoulders. Aruan’s
body dangles and writhes powerfully, hands to his neck until the body, after practically displacing
every heap of corpse in the battle field, settles at the centre of the stage. All who are present, in fear,
bow before Kokori. The Dibia sneezes heavily and collapses.
