Mavie Review: $1000+ Annual Access To A Dna Kit, Travel & Shopping
Mavie Review: $1000+ Annual Access To A Dna Kit, Travel & Shopping
The company launched earlier this year and is headed up by Founder and CEO, Abboud Barakat.
As per Barakat’s MaVie corporate bio, his background is mostly in distribution and
manufacturing of wellness and personal care products.
It also lead to the beginning of a ground breaking opportunity in the field of human DNA
wellness tests.
This opportunity was based on wellness reports that measured an individual’s nutritional needs
based on their personal genetic makeup.
Amazed with this scientific breakthrough that gave the ability to identify the wellness needs of
any human being based on their DNA, About immediately pursued the commercial opportunity
this presented.
MaVie was born from a partnership with a scientific team, dedicated to the provision of
personalized wellness solutions.
Possibly due to his working behind the scenes in distribution, I was unable to
independently verify these claims. Nor was I able to establish exactly which MLM companies
Barakat (right) has worked with and when.
The MaVie compensation plan cites “Advanced Wellness Solutions PTE Ltd” as a parent
company.
Advanced Wellness Solutions appears to be a Singapore corporation, however an address in
Hong Kong is provided in the MaVie compensation plan.
MaVie Products
MaVie markets products across three categories; health, leisure and benefits.
We hear you, and we’ve handpicked travel deals that other travel agents only dream of.
With our wellness platform, we make sure you are in top shape for the perfect lifestyle with
personalised health solutions that match your DNA.
With MaVie, you are part of our shopping community. Feel like a VIP, earn rewards and benefits
when you shop with us.
Beyond vague marketing copy such as the above, MaVie fail to provide specifics on any of their
products or services.
This includes retail pricing or how retail customers access any of the company’s offerings.
An “MV Preferred” signup page charges $299 and then a $68.99 four week subscription for
access to
The MaVie compensation plan also details a $99.99 “Advantage” membership, however that
doesn’t come up as an option on the MaVie website.
Direct commissions are available, with residuals paid out through dual unilevel and binary
teams.
Note that unilevel team volume requirements are capped at no more than 40% from any one
unilevel leg.
Commission Qualification
To qualify for membership commissions a MaVie affiliate must be up to date with membership
fees and generate at least 25 PV a month.
If a recruited affiliate or retail customers purchases the membership the affiliate who
recruited/referred them receives a $27 commission.
A unilevel compensation structure places an affiliate at the top of a unilevel team, with every
personally recruited affiliate placed directly under them (level 1):
If any level 1 affiliates recruit new affiliates, they are placed on level 2 of the original affiliate’s
unilevel team.
If any level 2 affiliates recruit new affiliates, they are placed on level 3 and so on and so forth
down a theoretical infinite number of levels.
Commissions are paid on monthly membership fee renewal fees by affiliates in the unilevel team
and their retail customers.
GV generated via payment of membership fees is tallied up and, once the following quotas are
met, commission rates are as follows:
Any other GV generated across the three unilevel team levels does not count toward residual
membership fee commissions.
Residual Commissions
A binary compensation structure places an affiliate at the top of a binary team, split into two
sides (left and right):
The first level of the binary team houses two positions. The second level of the binary team is
generated by splitting these first two positions into another two positions each (4 positions).
Subsequent levels of the binary team are generated as required, with each new level housing
twice as many positions as the previous level.
Positions in the binary team are filled via direct and indirect recruitment of affiliates. Note there
is no limit to how deep a binary team can grow.
At the end of each week MaVie tallies up sales volume generated across both sides of the binary
team.
MaVie affiliates are paid 10% of sales volume generated on their weaker binary team side.
There is also an additional “Doubling Team Bonus” paid out, which is paid out on up to 5000
GV generated on the weaker binary team side.
regular residual commissions are paid out at a rate of 9% cash and 1% in product credit
(excludes membership fees)
the Doubling Team Bonus is paid out at a flat 10% rate in cash
Weekly residual commission caps based on rank apply to regular residual commissions and the
Double Team Bonus combined.
Lifestyle Qualified Associate – $250
Lifestyle Senior Associate I – $500
Lifestyle Senior Associate II – $750
Lifestyle Executive – $1500
Lifestyle Senior Executive – $2500
Lifestyle Executive Director – $3500
Lifestyle International Director – $5000
Lifestyle Global Director – $10,000
Lifestyle Executive Global Director – $15,000
Lifestyle International President – $22,000
Lifestyle Global President – $35,000
Lifestyle Global President II – $45,000
Lifestyle Global Presidnt III – $70,000
Note that a MaVie affiliate must be generating 40 PV a month to qualify for residual binary
commissions.
Matching Bonus
MaVie pay a Matching Bonus on residual commissions earned by unilevel team affiliates.
This is the same unilevel team structure used to pay Residual Membership Fee Commissions (see
above).
MaVie affiliates earn the Matching Bonus on up to 10 unilevel team levels based on rank:
MaVie take 1% of weekly global sales volume (excludes membership fees) and place it into the
Global Leadership Pool.
At the end of each week, Lifestyle Director and higher ranked affiliates each receive one Global
Leadership Pool equal share.
Presidential Pool
MaVie take 2% of weekly global sales volume (excludes membership fees) and place it into the
Presidential Pool.
Lifestyle Global President and higher ranked MaVie affiliates qualify for shares in the
Presidential Pool based on unilevel team volume.
Each point of sales volume generated in an affiliate’s unilevel team (including their own PV)
equates to one share in the pool.
Note that no more than 40% of total volume counted can originate from a single unilevel team
leg.
Once shares for all Lifestyle Global President and higher ranked affiliates have been calculated,
the Presidential Pool for that week is split up per share and paid out accordingly.
Note that if the sum total of commissions paid out company-wide in any week exceeds 50%, the
Presidential Pool is adjusted down until total commissions paid out is reduced to 50%.
Joining MaVie
MaVie affiliate membership is $69.99 and then $18.99 every four weeks.
Conclusion
The legitimacy of the MaVie MLM opportunity lies in the retail viability of a $299 and then
$68.99 a month MV Preferred membership.
As our valued customer, you have privileged access to a host of MaVie exclusive offers that give
you a head start on living the life you deserve.
And at a retail level, $1057.89 annually just for access to things is inevitably going to be a hard
sell.
The good news is that while MaVie affiliates can certainly self-fund their monthly PV
requirements;
While not required, if you’d like you can be your own customer when you have a personal
membership.
Affiliate ranks require two to four retail MV Preferred memberships to be sold and maintained.
The affiliate membership to retail membership ratio could still be skewed if there’s more MaVie
affiliates with memberships than retail customers.
I initially attributed the completely anti-consumer approach to providing retail pricing beyond
the MV Preferred membership to a lack of retail focus, but to their credit MaVie have made a
good-faith effort to encourage retail membership sales (up to four must be maintained at the
higher ranks).
This however brings us back to retail viability of the MV Preferred membership, which to be
honest I’m just not seeing.
With the exception of the DNA kit, of which I’m aware of at least one MLM alternative, there
are a plethora of options for discount travel and e-commerce cashback portals.
Most of these options are free and opt for a merchant pays model.
MaVie double-dip, receiving both merchant commissions and fees from their affiliates.
There’s nothing inherently wrong with these models, just that for over $1000 a month they’re not
even remotely attractive at a retail level.
With respect to the compensation plan, MaVie provide a solid MLM foundation that’s primarily
rooted in sales of the MV Preferred membership.
Two things I didn’t quite understand though; the first being 40 PV required for residual binary
commissions.
The MaVie compensation plan contradicts itself, by also stating that Lifestyle Qualified
Associates earn residual binary commissions.
In an effort to be cautious I’ve gone with providing a 40 PV requirement, but which is it?
And why is 40 PV the minimum cited for rank qualification criteria when the specified ranks
have a monthly PV requirement of 50 or more?
The Doubling Team Bonus pays an effective 200% on the first 5000 GV generated on the
weaker binary side.
Sounds flashy but why not just bake this into a single residual commission. I’m not really seeing
the need to make it complicated with a separate commission explanation.
20% paid on the first 5000 GV and then 10% on any additional volume – that’s pretty much all
that’s happening (factor in the 1% product credit if you want to get technical).
The bottom-line?
If you can find retail customers willing to shell out $1000+ a year for access to discounts, you
might be able to carve out a successful MaVie business.
Good luck with that, because you’re probably going to need it.
